Hello friends. I thought I had posted a corrections comment but I guess YouTube deleted it.

So here we go.

1. In the hamburger menu gesture, you can diagonally swipe up or down. I said one direction and showed another, and then upon rewatch decided that it could be confusing for some folks. That's my bad.

2. In the "Files by Google" gesture, you don't need to double tap to change the volume. It's a single tap with two fingers. That's entirely my fault. When you've read a script with the words "two", "finger", "double', and "tap" that many times, it's easy to get tongue twisted.

3. The "faster app switching" is doable with the 3-button softkeys. Tap the recent apps button twice to quickly swap between two apps. In the video, I was trying to show that you can do the scrolling quick switch like you can with the gestures.

4. The one-fingered pinch to zoom actually works in any app that has a pinch-to-zoom functionality. I misread my source on that one and I should've tested it more thoroughly first.

5. During the Google Camera gestures segment, I say "double tap to zoom" when I mean "double tap to switch camera". That's not even a typo in the script, I just said it wrong and didn't notice.

I see you all have started listing your favorite gestures off as well. Happy to see them and keep 'em coming!

Thanks Joe, rapid but fulfilling video. All the best

Hmmm..

Very amazing gesture trick's. 👍

Bert Visscher

0:55 That looks like up to me.

I have been using that YouTube gesture to go full screen for a long time, but many times it goes back for some reason. It goes full screen, but not even a second later it goes back to portrait. Does anyone know why?

ㅤ

Hey dude do u know why it doesn't show the ram in a10

Øystein

Most gallery apps can do that.. I don't like Google photos as my gallery app.
Many non-google apps does most of these things. Many did it before Google too.
But nice video!

Great Tips

Surendar

Hey dude it's superb work and really useful

Ilpo Surokivi

Motion photo = avideo or a gif

Nasif

You can also minimize the expanded YouTube player by swiping down on from the middle of the screen
You can keep swiping all the way left from the delete key to delete more words in Gboard
If you rotate your phone without auto rotate a small rotate icon will show which you can press to rotate the device

Febrian Yuversal

wow, very useful video! I thought I already know lot of stuff from android devices, but sadly no thanks to this tips and trick! thankyou😁

Using a pixel 6 and done of these don't work for me. Specifically the hamburger menu and the space bar cursor gestures. Any idea why?

Arunlal Mokeri

Is that quick tap on the back still available? Is it there on Pixel 4a?

sam vivek

❤️❤️❤️❤️

Robert Anthony Pitera

Super helpful. Longtime Android user but even some of these 'old school' ones were new to me. Heading off to read the article! Thanks!!

Brandon Miniman

Alternative title: Android users finally get gestures

5:33 Oh look, accidental back action cause the half-arsed "gesture" implementation

Liam Marcon

I HATE the swipe from the side action for back. It leads too so many accidental swipes, which if you're doing something like filling out a form etc can be super annoying.

Kyle Del Valle

First off, this is a really helpful video and I wanted to thank you for teaching me some really useful gestures.

Second, regarding the Google Keep indent function, you don't need to press the 6-dot box to indent. You can press anywhere to the right of it, including the checkbox or list item and indent it from there. Hope that spares some frustration.

Jerad Berry

the most annoying thing about using the spacebar to move the curser in GBoard is that if you're doing it slowly to try and move just a few characters over, Google has an un-disablable language changing box that pops up to remind you you're not fast enough at micro gesture movements 😑😑😑

Random

Click back space key and slide towards left without lifting the finger, it deleted entire sentence .. if you want everything should be deleted at once…. 🔥

Haaris Rahman

I've been using Android for years. But there's always those new gestures they add over time that you never realize.
Great video. There were a bunch of them that were completely new to me and will be using, especially the YouTube ones.

the TruthStand

Wow! This video just made using my phone that I already knew how to use. Very well even easier. Thanks!

BroAnarchy

I actually tried the "minimize video" for YouTube that you mentioned, and it actually worked. But instead of continuing to play the video, it closed it instead haha

manormachine100

This looks like so much FUN.

1:42 – I wish Quick tap was universal across all OEMs 🙁 It would be the best way to take screenshot for me.

ADITYA

If you double tap the recent button on old navigation bottom bar, it will quickly switch to your last app.

Iván Bernáez Cobos

Thanks, this video is so useful 👏

Abhijeet Bohra

Another one for YouTube:
If your video is in PiP mode, you can drag from the top left corner to resize it.

DJ Lifted AndreaS

Have known most of these but some others like hold on viewfinder to invoke Google lens are new to me.

Yassi San

This was handy thanks 😊

Sergey Kovalenko

Deleting text by swiping backspace button too)))

Steph

When you're watching a YouTube video in landscape mode you can swipe down on the video to exit out of landscape mode

Joseph

iPhone has all this features

Cj Ryuk

I hate the pixel gestures. Wish there was an option to get the one plus one

Inderjit

Good video

Joel Conolly

Wow the YouTube one is definitely useful. I always hate looking for the smol button for videos. Now I just need to perform the gestures and then get it done fairly easily.

Niraj Thing

I know it existed before but iphone x made it mainstream. Nobody gave a bloody shit about gestures before. So thank you apple.

TheNyga

You did not mention "hidden menu" by holding on the opened tabs button inside Chrome. It lets you close the window, open a new window or open incognito mode.

Max Dy

Hello. Did you trapped to phantom navigation strip bug?

Achebe Terence

José

Kumarson Shrestha
