You missed gears of war 4 hardest difficulty+ ironman its impossible without cheating, trust me i cheated >.>
The sonic racing bit made me think of Split/Second. while not a mode per say, getting the top times in every race, needed to 100% the game, required absolutely PERFECT runs. triggering the right short cut-creating explosions (while avoiding getting killed by them), getting the perfect drift on every corner, etc. absolutely brutal. at least resetting was fast.

You got it all wrong, the hardest thing in XCOM is your soldiers ability to miss 90%+ hit chance shots 9 times out of 10. That was the true horror.

Did Jules ever play a Devil May Cry game? Heaven and Hell is the easiest mode in the game. You just walk in and shoot everything. Even Hell and Hell isn't that hard as by the time you get to it should have mastered the game.

My take: Legend of Zelda hard mode is not hard AT ALL since the game behavior is the exact same, it only tolerates less errors, if you know what you are doing it is the exact same experience as playing on Normal again. One that happened recently for me is that I am replaying Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories and it does the exact same, just change damage calculations on Hard and nothing else. I knew previously what worked in the game and only died once for a stupid distraction.
The only mode that is truly difficult in Zelda games is the Master Quest in Ocarina of Time specifically. There are not only enemies that deal more damage, but the entire layout of the game is changed so you have to fight against your muscle memory. Games dont have to receive such a heavy redesign to be truly difficult, but at least changing the behavior of the enemies a little bit can make the game truly difficult instead of just making the fragile main character fight a lot of bullet sponges.
Sonic and All Star Racing Transformed is hard but not on S races. What it does is diminishes the time the AI reacts when receiving items, if you dont enter in contact with them too much it is not that hard… BUT the Superstar Showdown on S have a lot of difficult missions and the Time Trials are relentless.
I play on casual. I like to enjoy the experience. But hell, soul caliber games on Mac difficult. Nioe

As for the DMC pic…DMD is difficult yeah but not to bad….Heavan or hell is super easy in all of them just shoot everything till you hit it once. Hell or Hell is actually insanely hard

Isn't that what makes the challenge? I mean, what's the point of avoiding hard difficulties or challenges if that person is not going to try to put an effort in it? The devil May cry games are a pain in the ass but they're all so fun.

The DMC hardest modes aren't that hard. Gotta play on turbo mode settings to make it fun. Still not hard.

6. I'm glad that I never want to play any Ninja Gaiden games. Because it's just too infamously difficult for casual players can handle as most of them being infamously unfair. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, ACT 6 OF NINJA GAIDEN NES 1! THE FACT THAT YOU'RE FORCED TO GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE STAGE ALL OVER AGAIN EVERYTIME YOU LOSE TO THE FINAL BOSSES IS FUCKING HORSESHIT! (Sigh) This is why Cyber Shadow surpass the Ninja Gaiden series as a true spiritual successor. That indie game created by Yacht Club Games & Mechanical Head Studios do the challenge much more fair while still being challenging at a same time thus the starting point for those who want to play a ninja game. NOW CAN WE HAVE A "NEW GAME PLUS" SIMILAR TO THE ONES IN SHOVEL KNIGHT, YACHT CLUB GAMES & MECHANICAL HEAD STUDIOS!?
I feel like the one life difficulty mode for Ori and the Blind forest was designed to be impossible. there are few games that have caused me to rage quit like spending 3 hours getting to a point and dying like a chump losing all game progress.
I'd say it's no shame to not complete any of those difficulties.

The only game I've beaten on it's hardest difficulty was Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and that game in itself is a nightmare from it's clunky mechanics to being squashed by the helicopter at the end. It took me about 3 months to beat 🥲
