Who else hates remastered Peter Parker
The change doesn't bother me too much, but it is absolutely baffling that they made that decision
If they had problems with the face, why not get the original actor back and redo for the mocap
Dumbest idea I’ve ever seen put on a game that was great and had little to no hate on any part of it…..why did you change the face of the MAIN F*CKING CHARACTER…
They just wanted to cash in on Tom Holland's likeness without having to pay for it. It's that simple. Their 'reasons', more like excuses, come off as complete BS. I sure as hell won't be paying them anything extra for that BS change. The new look doesn't fit the character or the story. It could work if he were still in high school and just starting off as Spider-man, but he's not, so it looks like crap.
From what I've been able to gather it seems the problem was that the original face was not done using photoscan and facial capture, when they have gone to implement photoscan and facial capture the actors face didn't match the in game model. They then made the decision to make changes to better implement the actor.
I genuinely don't understand the fuss, yeah it looks weird at first and I liked the character used originally but I don't think I or any other person for that matter have any right to tell what insomniac can or can't do with THEIR game. So what is the use in getting in twist over the change, it quite literally does not effect anyone quality of life at all.

10:20 my guess is they didnt expect this game to do as well as it did so the contract they got John Bubniak to sign was only for this one game with no follow up so when it can time to use his face again they would have had to resign him and likely for more money so recasting was the cheaper option as silly as it sounds.
the guys at Marvel really need to get over this dumb idea about making peter look younger so that the younger generation (you can't say kids as they dont want to sound like there talking down to them) has someone they can identify with, for the most part kids dont really care how old a superhero is, they care about how hard he or she can hit the bad guys, fans are not going to say ""oh god he is 25 thats way too old im not going to buy that cool statue of spiderman now""
I just had a thought: what if the original facial model might have insisted on renegotiating his contract for a whole new next gen release (seeing as how successful the original was) and Insomniac was not interested in paying out more when they could bring in a new face at far less pay. Absolutely no evidence for this, it's just a theory
If Peter hadn't been Spider-Man for 8 years at the start of the story no one would be complaining. He's supposed to look like a mid-to-late 20's post grad student. The new face would be more widely accepted if the story was telling his first couple years with powers in high school
PS4 Spiderman Marketing Campaign: We are going to showcase an older/wiser spiderman.
PS5 Spiderman Remaster Marketing Campaign: We made Peter Parker look like a 12 year old boy to better match the voice acting.
I thought maybe they recast the actor because the original actor didn’t or couldn’t participate in the sequel but apparently that’s not the case

Oh no, i do not like the new face. Doesn’t look bad, don’t get me wrong but it doesn’t fit with the already story & character. & on top of that the same voice ? No.

This title shows me how far this channel has fallen from its graces. Straight away claiming the ps5 remake is broken compared to the first when in reality the screenshots are 100% better than the ps4 version and the changes to peter parker was a design choice from the devs, its intentionally different, not broken. I think the new version does look more like a scared young teenage lad that's in over his head with super abilities but gets on with it like its nothing. If you guys have a problem with their design choice then just don't buy the game but don't claim the entire game is broken and spread that false information just because YOU don't like one change, its pathetic
And they actually have people who will pay $20 for a game they already have. Its zero reason this shouldn't be a free upgrade
Something else is going on behind the scenes. I wonder if they can't say due to contractual reasons for the face change.
What if they’ve just started thinking about a sequel and they’ve had some issue, creative or something else, with the original face actor? So they’ve found a new actor that fits in with their long term vision for the character.
So your options are play the PS4 version or the upscaled PS4>PS5 version if this new facial model isn't what you enjoy.
This is one single scene that we see. Im looking forward to the other scenes, but we'll be playing as Spider-Man more often anyway.
