I enjoyed every minute of it the talk your dad did was really interesting he knows his history on tractors and a lovely collection
What an absolutely amazing collection and knowledge on these great machines. Just subscribed and looking forward to seeing more
Thanks for showing your nice machines. I personally have Super Dexta, ferguson TEF. MF 135 and new Major. Also ford 4000. I use them on the farm still, i have used them thousands of hours over the decates. Nowadays we have john deeres and valtras. Britishs tractors have been popular in Finland. Many Nuffields and majors were used for hauling los from the woods during winter times and those machines stood it and looked a lot used
brilliant i have a 1949 Ferguson TE20 i live in north carolina
Great video Joanne your dad loved his tractors
Really enjoyed this video, would of love to of met your dad and chatted tractors he had a wealth of knowledge on a wide range of makes and models
Amazing how Farmers & ranchers from that region very similar to farmers & ranchers in America. Taking pride in what they do & loving their machinery. Love this video.
I’m on the look out for a cropmaster if you know of one
Hello. Just found the channel. Really enjoying the videos and love the tractors.
I used to have a TO 30 tractor , It was a good one. Yes your Dad certainly knows his tractors. I've always wanted to get a Farmall H , and restore it. Enjoyed your video very much. Thanks for Sharing 🇺🇸
Great video your Dad is vont of information all the way from Ireland
Dads knowledge is incredible he has a real interest for sure. I have driven those types of tractor including the Fordson, loved the Nuffield they bring back a lot of memories. Thanks for that video.
I never really thought much about tractors but once I started watching I couldn't stop. It was a presentation filled with history and personal experiences and I loved it! Well done Mr Shimwell! You might even make a farmer out of me one day.
Fantastic. Your dad has a vast knowledge of those tractors, even to where they were manufactured. I can recall most of them, in fact the very first tractor I drove, probably in 1956, was the little grey Ferguson. The farm owned two. One was a TVO model with a down swept exhaust. This was okay for forward vision, but going in reverse using a buckrake, the driver got all the exhaust fumes straight up into his face. The other on was the diesel model, which, according to your dad, hadn’t been produced many years prior to that time. I could chat to your dad for hours about tractors.
Do you keep all of them on the farm?
Thanks for showing me all those wonderful memories Joanna. Take care and stay on the positive side xx
Knows his stuff
Great talk up and very informative about the tractors, wondering what horsepower is the older Belarus.love that mtz tractor, something very unusual & quirky about it,after getting me thinking of buying one, especially after your Dad's description of how simple & reliable they are.
What a great collection of tractors. Your dad certainly knows his stuff. I have 5 tractors and dont even have a farm. Which one is your favourite Jo?
Great to see the old tractors, especially the Fergys, and lovely to see someone so knowledgeable relating his experiences, he's definitely someone who loves what he does. I am a farming enthusiast since being a lad, and have had various connections to farming over the years. I am a similar age to John, but the nearest I get to farming these days is youtube and playing Farming Simulator on the PC! Thanks for a great video, I am a recent suscriber, so will enjoy watching your other videos, keep up the good work.
Hi Joanna, lovely to meet you earlier, just watched the tractor show and wow would to spend a couple of hours talking with your dad, he is a wealth of information about tractors. He needs a a Channel of his own dedicated to tractors and their history👍👍👍👍👍👍
Your Dad is an encyclopaedia of tractors. Great for me to watch as we had a David Brown, I also know a lot about the history of David Brown because of my previous job, great video.
Found the tractor discussion interesting, I was brought up om a small farm in Cornwall in 1950/60's, initially we worked with horses, then we bought a Standard Fordson, can't remember year of manufacture, but certainly older than the one featured, it started on petrol when it was running on hot switched over to TVO. It could be a ral challenge to get it started in cold weather, we would take the plugs out and set fire to them even put them in the oven, the seat was meatal secured to a sprung metal bar ??, no PTO or Hydraulics, it had a belt drive pulley all the equipment we bought had to have the drive gears in the wheels, remember we had a grass cutter with a reciprocating blade and a muck spreader, we adapted the horse drawn rake for rowing up the hay, intially it was all turned by hand and carried in loose.
Hi have also driven most of those or very similar, New Holland still produce tractors out of Basildon.
Look 40 to 80 horsepower with a couple of tractor just over 100 horsepower
Hi Joanna, I’ve only been watching the last couple of weeks, your channel recently popped up on my iPad and I’ve been catching up with some of your older videos, they have really been enjoyable while all this crap had been going on, so thank you for sharing a little bit of what goes on on the farm and campsite. This is the first time I’ve left a comment, I just wanted to say to John that little chat about his tractors was fantastic, I loved it , brought back so many memories of my grandad (pops), I was born in Liverpool in the late 50.s no where near a farm, but he use to take me when I was no more then 10 to farm shows, garden fetes, outside Liverpool, we would sit and watch the steam tractor engines being driven around a field by to me ,seems like a load of Johns, the drivers and helpers would stop and chat for what seemed like hours about their machines ( where the found them, what condition they were in, what they were used for and what they were used for ,happy memories, anyway thx again for bringing the memories back, lovely times thx John thx Joanna❤️
Tractor Heaven! Great Video Thanks for uploading!
Great video fantastic knowledge.
Very interesting , I still like the 135 the most
That's quite a collection I know about those awkward david brown doors all too well I use a 1210 for all my heavy land work. Like you say fine once you are in.
The 2010 belarus looks like a good basic tractor for a small modern farm.
3 Comments:- 1.What fantastic knowledge and his love for tractors. 2. While he is talking, the views of your farm, the sheep, the rural tranquility just sum up the England we love! Such a shame to hear about the recent pollution, littering and general lack of understanding. How do we get our message across?? 3. There is a significant milestone in May 2021 that calls for some beer, a bit of a party and, of course, a speech!!
