They didn’t add the radio because they’re trying to sell Apple Music, That’s it.

I love my apple gear, and I’d never use anything less, I’m 100% ok with the choices and decisions they make, that’s why the iPhone experience is the best and as good as it is, what people don’t seem to understand is as you mentioned, is that apple does everything for a reason, and people should like the idea that if it’s not 100% perfect it’s noting going into. iPhone or Apple Watch, if you don’t like that or don’t agree with it then #theresanandroindforyou

Why buy songs on iTunes if you can listen for free on FM channels. Apples walled garden protecting its financial interests

Jason Lewis

It would be great to have as a back up. Where I live if one cell tower goes down I would be screwed. So FM would be a good way to get news in a emergency situation if a cell tower went down.

I may be two days late to the party, but I don't think I've ever clicked on a recommended video so fast in my life as I desperately want to know why iPhones don't have an FM radio. However, I do want to clarify that select iPod models actually DO have an FM radio that can even let you tune to the Japanese 76-90 (now 95 with plans for immediate to very near future expansion to 108) MHz band along with the North American 88-108 MHz band. I don't know if they ever included the 65-74 MHz Russian OIRT band, but I know they did the Japanese and North American bands.

An addendum: Apple's decision to release the iPhone 7 and onward without the Broadcom chipset was also very conveniently timed since the iPhone 7 and onward no longer feature a headphone jack, which makes use of the cord in a pair of wired headphones as the antenna.

someone

they probably also did it to slightly boost the apple music subscriptions

Salman Bari Rizal

in other words- they didn't wanted their Apple Podcast market to be interrupted

Thomas

Who really wants FM radio in a phone??? It’s useless now who wants to listen to all the commercials???

Marvelous Ifezue

That is just sad

Pensi0nar

Another reason why I won't be buying a iphone.

Lex Joan

quietkid

Why apple don't have fm radio
We Apple team, less… for more

Nashith

Radio are so useful when u don't have internet ☺️

bitcoin1192

nope, just lazy development taking places

DK

The real reason they didn't include FM is because they didn't want any competition for itunes and Apple music.

Prabhu Sankar

I genuinely feel they removed radio because of 2 this one "no cut" and the audio quality of FM radio on a loud speaker.

p a

It be included in iPhone 20

Manuzki

These reasons still kinda make no sense orher than quality. Nobody listens to radio while sitting in one place. Everybody listens to it on the go while on the car and most of the time they dont need to edit their fm frequensy. Fm is also for safety a good to have thing because if the internet it out but radio works, you can listen to the radio for the emergency announcing and updates

kibria

who uses radio in 2022 lol

Ray of Light 62

The fact that iPhones have no radio is one of the reasons why I stay away from Apple devices.
Also they don't have a headphone jack, and I can't replace the battery in them…

Aruna Samarakoon

Apple doesn't always have a reasonable reason for leaving out features. This guy make it look like there is. I still like the videos by the way

Lihao Yeong

iPod Nano, 5th and 6th generation, did have FM radio

Ryan Uribe

if you ask siri hey siri play 103.5 FM she will play radio, or he if you use male voice. 😁

cdb broadfield

Good move on apple’s part

Chancer Mage

I❤️radio works

berk arslan

Not this time. Cowboy. You come up with some convincing arguments but you blew this one. They were the iPod. There was no way they were gonna give an alternative to buying music. Their music

Pramukh Rawal

Lame and Laughable logic….why not remove internet apps…Internet is also having variable coverage and has poor transmission in villages ….and why not remove calling also it is also network dependent.
Shameless and meaningless explanation.

OreoRebus

its because they want to sell apple music product, thats it

CallMe•AnVaR.

antwane fort

Wow. The number of Apple fans defending this is mind blowing. It is like Apple can do no wrong in your eye.

Satish Selvam

Really? Apple makes more ad breaks

Abram Benoa

honestly who tf stills listen to the radio

Drake García

I call BS if this is why they chose not to include fm tuner. They are afraid that people can listen to free music instead of buying in itunes

daniboi

FM radio is avable on music/itunes app its titled radio

Will Cartoonist

This is why I salute the long defunct Zune HD. It did have an HD radio tuner that picked up FM and HD radio signals. It was nice. I wish I still had my Zune HD!

Samuel Simi

I Like your videos even before watching them. Keep up the good work.

Lord Hacker

Radio: no money
Apple music: yes money

Hadeel Ghazi

No profit, no use.

Anime Alpha

A calculator didn’t make sense to apple either, so they left it out in the ipad

Alex Cornwell

plus apple music has digital radio station streams on the app free to use so it doesnt need to use a radio app when you can just go to the music app.

Milton Mafumo

There are no reasons for this 😒😒.
FM radio is useful.

Yultax

can u cut breathe sounds

Leonardo Barrera

I already switch to iPhone, I like iPhones like you, but I don’t really care
I don’t like android

Tim Nix

I remember buying the FM transmitter for my iPod classic. Was kind of cool to have radio on the go.

CECFan1992

Balraj

iTunes/Apple Music revenue might got affected I guess 🤔

jyotirmoy roy

Right decision made.

squd's memories

why should it be added?

because its a great way of listening to music.
i dont want to have to be in the car or to buy a huge piece of equipment to listen to it 🙁
