Apple will base the next-generation iPhone SE on the design it used for the iPhone XR, claims leaker Jon Prosser, citing new information from his sources.
In the latest episode of the Geared Up podcast with Andru Edwards and Jon Rettinger (via AppleTrackr), Prosser claims that “The SE 4, from what I understand – and I don’t think I’ve said this publicly – is just the iPhone XR.”

The reason I kept buying the iPhone se was not because of price. It was because of its size! I do not want to carry around a tablet! If they increase the size, then I will stick with my se model until it dies. For those that think this is good news, I’m happy for you. For those of us that want the smaller phone, this is terrible news!
It would make sense that Apple would need the 11 out of the lineup before releasing this. Maybe it will make an appearance at the September event even?
if the SE price is close to a discunted iPhone 12, I am buying the 12 instead…. better trade in value when the iPhone 15 releases in 2023
I’m wondering now if the SE with the XR design will be the SE plus variant and then 2024 May see the SE in the body of a 13 mini. So there will be 2 SE offerings!

I hope for the IPhone 15, they bring back this XR curve design. The XS max was a nice looking phone and felt nice in the hands.

I hope this SE will have face ID. I dont like how the SE 3 didn't have it, and face ID is a great feature and since the SE 3 doesn't have it, there's no Animoji face recorder which is a fun/funny thing while sending people messages.
There should be two special edition phones…one with touchid and the other one with faceid the size of the out going mini. It doesn’t make sense to have an SE that looks like and is the same size as the XR cause it will canabalize sales from other models. Basically they should have an SE touchid and an SE mini faceid.

People need to stop complaining about the new SE. It's definitely step forward from the extremely outdated design, Touch ID and tiny battery.
If they went with the X chassis it coulda been the SE X.
The iPhone SE would be the perfect phone to put Touch ID into the power button and give us a full screen display without the dreaded notch. You get Touch ID, you get a bigger screen, everyone is happy.
