In this video I discuss the different healthcare options in Accra, Ghana. Including NHIS, Private health insurance and global health insurance. I also mention some of the hospitals in Accra and the process for registration and payments. This should be helpful for those moving to Ghana, living in Ghana or coming to Ghana on holiday.

That waz a great video Vanessa saved the hassle of asking you about the Healthcare policies in Ghana which are helpful, Thank you Vanessa just keep what you are doing!!! Love what you do and your channel ❤ 😉😊✌👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🙏
NHIS card does not work properly cos it covers some medications but others u will pay. Eg. I have a chronic skin condition and i use nhis card, i pay almost 90 % of my medication. NHIS card use to work well in its early stage but now its dead
The current Ghanaian government is really trying for their people. Wow!
The part about ambulances. Yes! This was SO HELPFUL Vanessa, thank you. Taking notes and researching more as you were talking. 🙌🏾
This video is extremely informative. For a Ghanaian in the process of relocating back back home, I really appreciate you putting this out. Adequate healthcare has always been my number issue relocating back to the continent. This video definitely covers that.
Greeting Vanessa Kanbi, excellent information and I am very glad that you found it in your heart to speak on this subject as health is very important in ones life. I would also like it if you would do a show on vegetarianism and it's effect on heath and heath care. Thanks for sharing Queen of Ghana, your sister as well.
Hi…u never made mention of the prices with global insurance companies???..
Uh-kay-shuh. Like the acacia tree that sprinkles the kapiti plains.
I was just in Accra Ghana and have traveled alot to Tema, and I was under the impression that they had no government assistance there so it's intersting to hear you mention all this good information. Now I'm assuming they could just go to Accra right? For healthcare? It's interesting that my boyfriend's mom had to go to the hospital in Tema and they wouldn't see her unless she paid like over 200 cedis just to get blood work and have some iv's and had to pay before be taken care of and this people are poor. It makes me sick to know this and them not knowing what's out there for them. Why don't they have that in Tema or do they and they don't know about it. Cuz they can't even afford sometimes to travel.
This video was very informative. Job well done! You really did your research. This was very helpful to me because I plan to relocate to Ghana in the future. This helps me make informed decisions on relocation. Thanks, Vanessa! On a different note, I wonder if you experience harmattan season yet. Can you do a video on harmattan in Ghana with its associated health risks, harmattan survival tips, please? Is harmattan severe in some parts of Ghana, and less in other regions? Or, is the entire country equally affected by harmattan?
Thanks again and please keep up the great work!
Thanks for the vid!! Im a primary care physician in Dallas, TX and thinking about dual citizenship with Ghana so this vid was perfectly timed! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing, I noticed that there are not so many videos about jobs, careers and salaries in Ghana on YouTube. It would be interesting to know how much a KFC worker makes and also the taxes. Love your videos Vanessa! 💕💕
Saw you on a documentary 'Black and Scottish' had to tell my family: "oh I follow her channel on YouTube 😅"
Thank you Vanessa, this is so informative. I'm moving over to Ghana in a few months time and I have been thinking whether to get private insurance out there when I arrive or go for a global insurance policy. I am more for the latter and this video has certainly helped with my decision. Did you engage a broker or did you approach the insurance companies directly?
could you talk about hoosing schools in ghana
Good content and thanks for the information!
7 weeks until we move to Accra!
I’m still not 100% sure what we’ll do but this vid was a good start to help us make a decision. Thanks!

We need this. Thanks!
Please let me know which global health care you went with
Very interested in this
This pandemic has taught not to rely on the government for assistance. A lot of us started taking our journey towards financial freedom more serious! I advice everyone to start your financial journey right now because 6 months Of negotiating doesn't make any sense no matter what side you're on!
Very interesting keep working hard I will always watch ur video 📸 much love from Ghana 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭✊
Thank you for this informative video Vanessa 🤎 great information 👍🏾
Great content, Vanessa
The public health care system in Ghana has severe issues, not just because of covid. Lately there have been several news reports on this issues, even with doctors speaking out. Unfortunately you also can't trust the private hospitals. If you want good medical treatment in Ghana, you have to ask for specific doctors. I'm here for several years and I'm signed up at several clinics. After a few years, everyone has either had horrible experience with incompetent medical staff themselves or heard about it. Sorry for the negative comment, but when it comes to health I think it's really important to be honest.
