RBY Golem and Victreebel both come to mind for part 2

Cynthia Crescent

Lots of talk about nerfs and powercreep on a video that deliberately has nothing to do with such concepts.

Tommy Durning

Arlo list to my infernape to time weak my real team

GWFanSoftcoreBrony

In a certain light you could have called Talonflame, Mega Kangaskhan, and Aegislash the faces of gen 6 since it seemed like every team you faced had one or more of them on it. Then Talonflame and Mega Kangaskhan got nerfed into oblivion the following gen and Aegislash was nerfed extra hard in Gen 8. However, it would seem that old Talonflame still managed to fail to cut it forever in gen 6 regardless.

Tushaar Akula

SS dlc be like 😥😳

Nathan Hind

How good was rotom actually!!

Talking Vidya

This is something I love about Pokémon, when something is so used and defining but not broken, people start to brainstorm ways of dealing with it, to the point it becomes unused because everyone expects it and has a way to deal with it.

crobatman 44

Suicune in gsc has been having a bad time as well actually, the legendary beasts are suffering.(seriously tho it's now lower than a couple uubl mons and could drop behind alakazam and slum it out with blissey as ou's "worst".)

Joah Simmons

I kept playing rby ou. And gosh darn it golem and Lapras fell off the cliff. Victreebel got in… then back out lolz

Brandan A

We gonna talk about talon flames nerf

Bootleg

"This functioned as both an amazing revenge killing tool and an offensive weapon to bypass would be revenge killing from the OPPS" -False Swipe Gaming, 2022

Antercept

Raikou got Scald in Gen 8

JazzyJ

Can I get a Rip in the chat for gen 1 golem

Akliroth Cranix VI

LMAOOO! Fire Monkey fell haha

Clueless Khajiit

Sellout. How much did your self respect cost anyway?

Mas

Before starting the vid: I'd be shocked if gen 1 Golem isn't in this

Edit: huh.

Bloodhound

mm yes I love the Pokemon Snap gameplay

CoffeeFlavoredMilk

When I saw this video I thought it'd be for Pokemon that were once top OU stars in past gens but now consistently reside in lower tiers. (Jellicent, Exeggutor, Tauros etc.) That being said such a video would be nice.

BasketCase

Golem in Gen 1 fell two tiers because people made the online simulators wrong

Rue d'Enfer

DE-NERF GALE WINGS 2022

Matt Pet

So many people cover vgc happy u often focus on singles!

chris burns

Man, this vid makes me miss talonflame and infernape. Hopefully they’re brought into Scarlett and violet and hopefully get some kind of rework to make them good. Those were always just cool Pokémon.

Gamerman Zeake

This video is making a moot point at best. All of these Pokemon are amazing, and are just as successful as they always have been. The difference maker? Some folks found out that the "Solid" Competitive ideals, based around a fluid RNG non-competitive oriented single player children focused RPG, just may not be as solid as originally assumed.

It's the same problem with "Power Creep." This game is not balanced around competitive. There are purpose-made good and bad mons. Movesets, typings and abilities dictate more than just about anything concerning the viability of mons. This is no truer than when you look into which generation has the highest average base stat total, which is a close race between Gen Three and Six.

Crazy how this channel is changing.

L + ratio + fell off

Melcasucre

videos about old formats still being explored are easely my favorites

the unknown gamer nl

Chandelure fell off hard in gen 5, but it was more of an immediate drop. Probably due to new toy syndrome, it was used and feared in ou but after it wore off chandelure actually dropped to uu. (In which it is now banned but it shows how bad it was)

SpaceOpera

Definitely expected RBY Golem to show up here

ChaosBoi

I was wondering if they'll ever do a video about pokemon that were really good in OU but fell off hard below it due to meta changes, something like Golem's drop in RBY OU, although I don't know if there are other examples like Golem to list it.

Frank axe

BRO DO THE GEN TO GEN one because you always Say it that what is about

IrrelevantPride

How GREAT was Heatran ACTUALLY?

Full_Metal

Poor Talonflame, nerfed to the ground after it's debut gen and no longer the OU juggernaut it once was in gen 6

Diego Alvarenga

In the x/y format Rypherior with rock helmet was my Talonflame counter.

makepr

I though metagross is gonna be here for some reason. But i guess thats more of a case when gens went on

Mateo Edwards

I still feel bad for these mons. I loved using Infernape and Talonflame in my in-game teams, and they’re both great. I just wish I could see much better games from them.(New note: I actually love using Infernape in Pokemon Showdown these days, and it can be quite fun to use)

LocoMokuu

Infernape is in my top 3 favorites, so it's sad to see him fall off. Had your time in the spotlight, king 😔
