No new game plus wasted of programming
Here is my review. Also I haven't played ending yet, so don't spoil and expect edits.
Valhalla was a long amazing game and an underrated masterpiece. Nice to see in comments that people start appreciate this game. So OK, let's get to the main part!
What went well: A super long story that most modern games should follow in length, because the single player length we have seen in recent for example CoDs, were short, longest CoD in last three years was MWII with six hours of campaign whereas we all remember good old days of CoD WaW that had 12 hours of campaign. And CoD 1-3 that were even longer! Also the game had like a wild feeling, a great feeling, of wilderness and the opened world was one only of it's kind. Also multiple open world maps offered a gigantic open world, nearly as huge as Skyrim that was fully amazing. Imagine how huge this open world would be in one map with all those distances and sea travels. Other amazing thing was graphics and leading your village. The other great aspect was a full mythical arc. With actual mythical open world maps That all was 10/10.
What went badly
However no game is perfect. The main con of the game is that even tho it took me 300 hours to complete, the game felt like a lot of wasted potential, for example the side quest mention of war with Picts, we could have like an entire DLC in Scotland with it's King, King Constantin and everything and really, I would love a game that has met 100% potential and lasts even 100 000 000 000 hours and making such games is possible may S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 be an example of it. Other con is that some of the story arcs are basically just there to be, for example Essexe, it ended like in the middle of the quest that it should be. The other one is for example East Anglia where the story did not really made sense and was too candy. The other mess was glowcestreshire arc, and it was so stupid and nonsense that I slept on it twice. So that could be done better. The other con was the OG ending, that was basically stupid. We lost like 3 good characters and on the end the king from being the king became just an ass-leaker doing work for some old lady calling him like he was 5 years old. Luckily the ending was fixed with DLCs and amazing the isle of Skye epilogue. The other con that was blinding me was the political correctness, for example I met up with a Viking and I thought he wants to fight me for swords like in "The Last Kingdom", then he asks me to exchange something more than words with a very battle-needing voice and I clicked yes, then he comes to me, grabs me by the dick and kisses. I was literally disgusted. Some more shit like that was in like 2 other places in the game and I was playing male Eivor and I am thanking God I didn't got to play female one, because that would be a true SJW shit game. The other con was a lackluster ending for the mythical storyline, however it got fixed in the DLCs. The last con sadly is Eivor. And this is because of his personality, this is saw on male Eivor more. He is basically just too kind, too candy, like too nice towards everyone, he wasn't badass enough and also he was very predictable, I would prefer to have a badass character with a lot of mysteries about him and unpredictable, something more like a Viking from "Vikings" show from history or "The Last Kingdom" show from Netflix. Because here in the game it's basically Janosik or more for your understanding Robin Hood from Viking family. This kind of personality well fitted Bayek but not Eivor.
Those are all pros and cons about the game. Despite all of those crimes, the game commited it is still a very good game and should be in the top 10 games of years 2011-2020. I had blast playing it and I recommend it for everyone. Best medieval game ever. This was my review.
It's funny how long and bloated Valhalla is, because I seem to remember before it came out the developers talked about how they wanted to create a denser, more streamlined experience. Maybe they just meant the POIs, instead of fully-written side quests.
And they just finished this game
The thing is, their intentions were to make Valhalla the main structure for the next titles by attach those like they did with the DLCs.
But something made them to change their mind.
Maybe when they added those DLCs, they noticed that things got complicated and by doing that will have limitations that they dont like.
The true is … i like to have a main game from where to load different maps.
Bloated boring and endless.
Best put by skill up.
Big game and customization doesnt always mean good game. But the bones on this one are good. I think the next two title and their success will lay the foundation for the next decade of AC games. Great vid!
Nice vid. I really enjoyed Valhalla, it is a really addicting game with tons of stuff to explore. I mean the game's duration is 400+ hours and i bought it for 20€ that's a pretty good deal if you ask me so i can't complain
Being someone who started with the RPG style AC games, I have to say I think Valhalla and Revelations are my two favorites. Eivor gets a lot more to do than most other protagonists and I disagree with the notion that he (I used the male) does not actually gets more of a character arch than people give him credit for. Ezio is still my favorite because he is just a more charismatic character, but I feel like Eivor's emotional struggles with having to become a leader than staying a Viking conqueror was a compelling part that speaks to the soul of those that are constantly longing for adventure in their lives. Also I feel with what they did with the Isu in the main storyline was well done. Post launch is where I thought the game fell flat.
People claim this game is too long but liked gta 5 which was also long 🤦
I personally liked it way more than Odyssey and Assassin's creed 3 I think Valhalla is a good game but the post launch content was mid and the asgard parts where a chore. But overall Valhalla is a good game just nothing compared to its predecessors. It definitely has the most best and fun gameplay of the rpg trilogy which isn't a high bar. Valhalla still doesn't come close to Unity or syndicate, black flag or Ezio trilogy.
This video was more informative than all my college classes
Such a pretty game, ready to see what they do with mirage 👀
