The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has been teased and leaked a lot, but now we have a launch date! Unpacked 2023 will stream online on Feb 1st, revealing the camera tech, specs, plus other bits of Samsung’s S23 smartphones.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra should receive the biggest upgrades vs last year’s S22 phones, with a 200MP primary camera on board. However, all three mobiles will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, for impressive gaming performance. This will also hopefully improve the battery life of the regular Samsung Galaxy S23, which should have a slightly bigger cell but still be a compact 6.1-inches.
Most of the rest of the specs seem to be very familiar. That display tech hasn’t changed much, while the Samsung S23 Ultra, Plus and regular models all sport similar memory and storage choices. The design of these Galaxy S23 smartphones will also give previous Ultra owners deja-vu.

Not all Samsung S23 will be the same.
The small 6.1 inch with 128GB will use the old ufs 3.1 storage but the 256 GB will use ufs 4.0 storage which is a big difference and the camera will be different lower spec compared to the other two big display models.

I'm being cynical and waiting for 100% confirmation that this will have SD8 G2 SoC. I want to believe, but fear I'll be disappointed. If confirmed, then I'll consider upgrading my S21 Ultra to the S23 Ultra. However, the S23 Ultra will need to be seriously impressive because b*gger me, the S21 Ultra is still really good.

I have the Galaxy S20 5G at the moment that I imported from Hong Kong so I could get the Snapdragon over the Exynos version, I'm delighted they're going back to Qualcomm for all now, I may upgrade!
Also people moaning it looks the same, it works for iPhone whose had the same design for the last three years.

I'm supposed to be spoiling myself with a Samsung S23 Ultra as an early 30th birthday present, but honestly I'm so tempted to just get last year's model and use the saved money for a steam deck! There would have to be some major battery advancements to convince me.
