Well Light Screen Chansey , Self-Destruct Snorlax , Exeggutor and Amensia Slowbro would all disagree as does your Own Mewtwo and Transform Mew
Mewtwo's counters were the gen 1 mechanics itself. Mewtwo hates being paralyzed by thunder wave (the best status spread move in the game) and it can't just use sub to stop it since in gen 1 subs don't block status condition inflicting moves
I like how by today's stats gen 1 Mewtwo would have a higher BST than Arceus

The fact that you needed an ENTIRE 6 Pokémon team to get even have a chance at defeating him at the end of Pokémon stadium also speaks volumes of how stupid op he was on Gen 1.
I remember that because as a kid I didn’t really understood the mechanics of the game I would always bring the starter trio, plus the legendary birds. Yeah I can’t remember right now how I beat him.
I'm glad future generations introduced both countermeasures to balance out Mewtwo and a bevy of new tools for it.

Gen 1 was really unbalanced and couldn’t really be compared to metagames today. Being strong there isn’t the same as being strong in more modern metagames. Therefore, mewtwo is not the strongest pokemon of all time.

is Miraidon actually tearing apart Gen 9 Ubers or is he there just to grab the attention of new players who only know Gen 9?
You can reasonably make a team without Zacian, Miraidon, or Mega Rayquaza in their respective gens without completely throwing, but Mewtwo is absolutely mandatory on every serious RBY Ubers team.
All you did was pray for paralysis or for your own Mewtwo set to beat the other person's. Or that they didn't have submission for your chansey
Not only that but you also forgot that Mewtwo's got a really good moveset, with amnesia recover and reflect it can become nearly unkillable

Scratch the Ghost part cause the guys at Game Freak managed to make Psychic immune to Ghost in Gen 1.
So yeah, only Twin Needle and Pin Missile work.
