Am I losing my mind or did he significantly upgrade his microphone? The audio quality sounds way better than I remember
Samsung are no longer the "good guys". They have become as greedy as Apple. No more Scamsung!
I love that the user "larossmann" asked the EXACT same question I was about to post. I'll still post it below:
To Samsung: "When are you going to undo your anti-consumer moves and add back the 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card storage back to your flagship phones?"
"What about allowing us to remove the battery again?"
"Can you make the phones thicker so we can have a larger capacity battery as I'd want one with at least 8,000 mAh? Why is that not an option for larger battery capacity, even if the phone is larger?"
—————————————
Apple years ago removed the headphone jack just to push their air pods. Samsung realized they could do the same to push their crappy Bluetooth headphones as well. Personally, I prefer wired headphones is I'd always forget to charge my Bluetooth, and it's annoying to have a dead battery for them when you want to use them. I know they make USB Type-C adapters, but that's beside the point. They took away a feature just to sell it back to you.
(TL;DR is below about memory card speeds)
Then they realized they could charge way more for internal storage, so they removed the microSD card slot. Instead of allowing somebody to have like 512 GB microSD card for like $50 to $60, they can instead charge $100 to 500+ for just 128 GB to 512 GB of more flash storage. One reason I could see they are also doing it is to push their cloud services subscriptions (especially if they cost extra).
I've heard many claims that it was removed because it was "too slow," which is soooooo bullshit. If I recall correctly, many phones with a microSD card slot use the UHS-I interface. Generally, this means around 50 to 104 MB/s transfer speed. My question is, if cards being "too slow" is the problem, then why the hell haven't they upgraded those to UHS-II, UHS-III, or even SD Express (7.0 or 8.0)? (UHS stands for "Ultra High Speed").
Estimated speed ranges for each (maximum transfer speed):
UHS-I = 50 to 104 MB/s (some cards I've seen say up to 120 to 170 MB/s. Not sure if accurate.)
UHS-II = 156 to 312 MB/s
UHS-III = 312 to 624 MB/s
SD Express (7.0) = up to 985 MB/s (some cards list up to 500 to 820 MB/s).
SD Express (8.0) = 1.8 GB/s (Single PCIe 4.0 lane) / 4.0 GB/s (Dual PCIe 4.0 lanes).
Now tell me, the higher ones are backwards compatible with the lower ones, so why haven't phone companies or other electronics companies adapted to them? They haven't because they are purposely suppressing the technology by not adapting to it.
There's no extra money to be made for adding such a MASSIVE pro-consumer move. It's one of those "catch-22 scenarios" here; companies won't adopt it to their electronics until more of these memory cards are made, and they aren't making the cards because nobody is adopting the interface. (New ones require new row or rows of pins to achieve faster speeds.)
The TL'DR version: The technology is there to allow much faster memory card speeds, they just purposely choose not to give you a choice.

Before anybody asks, I have a Galaxy S9+ (got it in August 2019). Because of Samsung's horrible decisions over the years (no headphone jack and no microSD card slot), if I get a new phone, I'll probably end up going with a Sony Xperia phone. It's one of the few flagship phones that I found that STILL includes both of them. The major downside is they are UBER expensive, so I'd most likely wait and get a previous generation on a sale instead for much cheaper.
Same. I never liked Apple for douchy and dicky stuff. Used to fanboy and support Samsung for being open and free, but they are becoming the thing I absolutely loathe. They are blaming others for their own shortcomings, denying problems (scanlines on monitors) and outright lying about various things. Customer service is subpar. They're most def not what they used to be. Such a shame.
I was an Android Samsung fanboy for a long time. Now they just feel like an iPhone that runs Android.
Yeah they’ve got some differences but they seem to get closer to each other every year.
Samsung is Apple's subsidiary.
Why does it sound like there is a porno playing in that back at 2:48? lol
Interesting about Tik Tok. I have a Samsung Galsxy S20 FE 5G phone that came OREINSTALLED with Rik Tok. I DO NOT want it on my phone so U deleted vital. But how do I know it's truly hone? It could still be listening fir sll I know. I do not trust the CCP.
"Ask me anything, anything at all, anything to your heart's content (except for 90% of questions)
We’re living in a scripted world
I’m sure if you dig deeper, you’ll find mole questions that gets an incredibly detailed response. The rest are fluff that doesn’t fit the script.
Less of an AMA, and more of an "Ask-Me-One-of-the-Few-Very-Specific-Questions-I-want to-and-Have-a-Corporate-Answer-For…"
LOL… Samsung is really going all-out on the sad Apple cloning.
Rampart
welp then what phone should we get? is there any good company or do we have to go to the wierd companies on aliexpress?
samsung was bought out by Hanwha, Hanwha also bought out Doosan [Seoul, Korea, 26 November, 2014] Hanwha Group (headed by Chairman Seung Youn Kim) proceeds with a large-scale M&A

i'm a Nokia loyalist, honestly, never saw the need to buy any other phone, except for my One Plus One during that Microsoft period we don't talk about.
My current one is a $200 smartphone that basically can do anything an 800$ smartphone could do 4 years ago.
I can even easily play modern 3d mobile games.
I think we're past the point where "mid and low" phones had inadequate specs for daily life. We can stop buying the most expensive one. and only chasing the newest flagship samsung or apple.
I’m not a simp for tech corporations, and what I see is mostly people who use android being super cringey against apple and iPhone. What confuses me is when they say things like “Apple phones don’t have a removable battery or storage.” But didn’t android based phones do the same thing? They took all of that away too, right?
OK, i admit i'm slow. Way back when, whenever that was, commercial of Flat screen TV first came out, i said i was going to get one. Had to Fix areas of house first, and at $8,000, waiting was a Deal.
Years later, more things to fix, $7,800 less, have Not yet purchased one. NOW you say, "Televisions Filled With Advertisements". I just wanted TV, Not studio of actors stuffed into a 'Box'. ugh!
Had a Samsung ad showed to me before this video : ) All of my experience with samsung products was pretty bad, except an old tablet that my mother is using. It's battery is dead but otherwise, a nice machine. The quality of their displays are really good though…
Shit Sung… 병신
I am like you thought Samsubg was better but not any more, although they still make a phone with a removable battery, SD storage and a headphone jack.
Xcopy 6 pro which is way over priced
I was planning on getting the new s23 ultra this year. I have a perfectly good s20. After watching this, I no longer have the motivation for getting the new phone. Samsung really be making Bs in the spot – no thanks
I'm debating about getting a sony phone myself
I have Galaxy A52s. Such a nice phone. Micro SD, headphone jack, all the good stuff. Yeah, performance is not on pair with the latest iPhone or whatever, but it's still plenty as it packs snapdragon 778g. Cameras are completely fine for me, too. Also water resistant. Had charging brick in the box (even though not very fast, only 15w, and phone support up to 25w, but it's better than nothing).
samsung is trying too hard to compete with apple at the expense of their own customers, which is why i buy motorola.
I agree. Samsung has gone downhill.
Whom'st've be going off at 2:48
had a s7 active and loved it so much i got a s8 active, weird how they decide to stop producing a line of phones that are rugged, high quality and waterproof, in favor of glass on glass shatterboxes that cant survive a drop from waist height. RIP my s8 active, a car running over it was too much for it 🙁
To be fair you did ask pretty stupid questions that we all know the answer to.
Samsung these days is just a second rate iPhone. They will never be as good and anyone using an android knows that they are inferior to Apple users.
Sounds like some samsung employees didn't understand how an AMA works
I had my screen repaired by insurance. They had to also replaced the battery. I think I know why now.
Nowadays, the only reason why I look at Samsung phone is because of DeX. If I want a complete flagship, Sony is definitely my choice after LG has left the smartphone market.
sad that it is so easy for them to remove any critical question.
I won't ever own another Samsung device! I've had too many Samsung devices fail on me. I tried Apple before but I use too many Android apps that don't play nice with Apple phones very well. So now I'm using Google Pixel phones for the foreseeable future.
Their first mistake was going on Reddit, that place is straight up a garbage dump at this point, nothing like it used to be a few years back. Anything even remotely deviating from their bias will get you banned/harassed there.
I reported a misleading Trump post a while back and I got banned from the website FOR A WEEK, just for reporting it, I didn't even say anything.
Apple started out as the great brand of freedom, and evolved into a monster that makes Microsoft look like the EFF.
Now Samsung are learning dickishness from Apple.
Whoever the next Great Hope is will doubtless guzzle down the Samsung Kool Ade in the fullness of time.
