Stop the FOMO

NOTE: Chirag is with Samsung Display who makes the raw panels and NOT Samsung Electronics (TV maker) we explain it here https://youtu.be/_X8tvJM5zmM?t=149
WHO'S EXCITED for round 3 of the OLED TV wars? Predictions?

Ali Asaad

Thank you so much FOMO for this series. It was very informative 🥰

Hate to say it but too much BS from not just Samsung but from all the manufacturers. New firmware releases are not adequately tested before release, systems ship with bugs & other issues that may or may not get fixed (looking at you hisense u8h 120hz).
Support drops off after a few years both in customer service & firmware updates.
If this is progress I'd like to regress! 🙈🙉🙊

Sony will debut with a QD MLA OLED

Will LG C3 has grainy texture issue like LG C2?
I refunded my LG C2 just because of that grainy texture. It really bothers me especially when using it as my PC monitor

Iam not paying more than 2500 for a 77 inch TV, coz no matter which brand, they are all cheaply fabricated from China or Taiwan anyways, albeit – not worth to spend crazy amounts.
Most likely rolling with the S95C or S90C on BF this year, because with Samsung at least you can trust them to drop their TV prices into reasonable territories, same like last year.
However Iam also keeping an eye on the pricing situation of the 85 inch X95K, tho with Sony Iam not too confident.

Watch LG come out with emissive Quantum Dots first, so there is absolutely no back light. …. I'm just kidding since Samsung is probably closer to that than LG, but you never know. … Speaking more realistically, though, Samsung can't match LG's processing and color accuracy (yet) and while Sony's QD-OLED is bound to be superior to all, will 2022 trends repeat wherein you get 90-95% of Sony's processing and color accuracy at a much cheaper price with the LG? Can't wait for the reviews to find out!

Matt Davis

When I go and view these displays at a store, they all look amazing to me. I’m not super discerning when it comes to color accuracy and brightness at these small points.
At this point, I have two main things I’m looking for in a new TV.
1. A smooth well designed OS that doesn’t lag and throw constant ads at me.
2. Great gaming features.

Patrick Lyons

I’ll trust Samsung when they can actually make software for their tvs.

Ramon Barajas

I want a new oled tv cause my LGB7 has burn in from normal tv watching, but I'm so worried getting burn in again.

Buddy305Luv

I think LG had MLA under its belt for a long time but didn't want to let it out of the house until something forced its hand. QDOLED forced LGs to hand, so they let MLA out of the house. LG's MLA might be too late for the game, but you must start somewhere.

Tundrusphoto

Burn-in has not been solved. AGAIN… how long will the panels last? ASK THE QUESTION! The manufacturers know – they have tested it and know the answer.

Samsung S95C @4k/120 XSX and get green error 😆

Emmanuel Ibe-Enyindah

QD-OLED's colour luminance implementation doesn't sound very positive for the longevity of its TVs as regards burn-in.

Samsung Display has an amazing technology
it's a shame they put it in the hands of samsung electronics for their TVs 🙁

Panasonic should enter the QD OLED world, but I fear they have an exclusivity agreement with LG. Sony QD OLED is great but very expensive.

Skywatcher

Can we get a LG breakdown

Skywatcher

Please 🙏 Im loosing it do I buy the S95C 77 or wait for LG G3 77

Gawain Davies

Samsung can play tricks on consumers by downgrading the panels after purchase.

D. crofter

Samsung is going to win … according to Samsung. Well who could have seen that development eh?
Come on mate – this is the same Samsung who were in denial and trying to paint LCD as the superior technology not more than 18 months ago.

Your channel should be better than this.

Jeremias Helminen

Where is those videos 12.00?

Kristijan Car

Samsung won Round 2 really ? The sales on the LG OLEDs better and less QC/software issues. Yeah QD OLED is the superior tech…when it's used properly like in the A95K.

Craig Osterberg

Thanks

Samsung, please make a 42" 16:9 qd-oled!

I'm more impressed with MLA because it magnifies brightness without needing to boost power output, meaning heating issues should be much less prevalent with MLA. Conventional brightness boosting requires increasing power and finding solutions to dissipate heat, and will only give you a marginal brightness boost.
MLA gives you a much bigger brightness boost without needing to pump up the power, meaning you don't have to give up anything to get it.
My bullshit meter is going off slightly regarding the Samsung claims. Color volume is definitely a win for Samsung, but i'm not convinced about the other stuff. I want to see a fully calibrated head to head comparison to get the actual performance results.
