Kubota Tractor Mod: Versatile Tractor Toolboxes (#71)

Tractor manufacturers don’t give much thought to storage on their tractors, so it falls on us tractor owners to come up with toolbox and storage solutions to meet our needs. Here’s my solution for adding tractor toolboxes.

I think your videos are great! Very informative!!

Steven Reeves

do you have a source for the u bolts you used for the rops? I only have ones for the original toolbox.

Tony Billow

Where did you get the left side toolbox mount or did you make it, great job with the video, thanks.

john smith

I also carry some lifting straps and tow strap. You wouldn't believe how many people get stuck in the desert! Can't find the metric hammer anywhere tho, even Amazon.

Matthew Sims

I see people commenting that TP is something to keep in your toolbox. My thoughts are, why waste the space, i always wear socks and they work great if mother nature calls at a bad time.

Dwayne Loftice

Simple….but so very thorough too. You have the right stuff! Well done.

I have a brand new 2020 BX 1880 which is the smallest tractor available from Kubota that comes with the loader. I have been looking all through You Tube for a tool box system that would fit my tractor and I believe the one you mounted on the right side of yours will fit perfect. I have a Kubota orange tool box from Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/AMMO-CAN-ORANGE/24853161?comm-msg-vehicle=EMAIL&comm-msg-id=8f0bee5e-654b-48bd-96a8-471b657ba1ca I am afraid it's temporarily out of stock because I bought the last one but it will work like yours I believe. I had total sticker shock for some of the ready made tool box systems out there. A site called Artillian has an awesome system but I could spend well over $200 just for the basic set up. Thanks for your videos

Good ideas on the water proof tool boxes. My daddy had a tube of Gunslick grease in his Cleaning kit when i was a boy. Old memorys. Thank you.

Hi, I have a question regarding your "Patsy Quick Connect" 3Point Hitch device. How easy is it to add and remove this device? … when you have a backhoe attachement. I am asking because I also have a Backhoe attachment, and would have to mount/dismount the Patsy Quick Connect often. … thanks in advance for your insight! Dan

Forgot to mention. Your tool boxes are a truly great idea. Well thought out and done right. And you are not trying to sell them, how refreshing that is. I will be doing likewise, copying your great idea on another L3800 with backhoe. 👍

I love it, ”a metric persuader”. I will chuckle everytime I use my persuade r now. Oh yes, metric of course. 👍

From Steel To Wood

Metric little persuader… Very specific tool. I should take the time to install toolbox storage on mine. I even bought a cupholder. Thanks!

Lots of extra storage Martin! So true – not much room in the toolbox supplied with the tractor. Thanks for going through the build and your tool set – some good ideas there. Cheers!

They do look good Martin!  You made some really nice brackets for your boxes!  The rags are a must!! lol  Yeah, you got your boxes setup nicely!  I like the idea of the tube of grease.  Thanks! I enjoyed watching!  Have a good week Martin!!

Good tip on how to mount a toolbox and what to put in it. Was that a left or right handed hammer? We call your adjustable wrench a shifting spanner in Australia. Great video as usual.

Kubota Monster

Great video. I’m looking for a toolbox or bag solution for my BX with a cab. Not really sure where I want it to be located.

Thinking Impaired

Nice work and definitely a essential item for any tractor. I waited 40 years until I was fed up being without a tool box.

SuperJamster1

metric persuader lol. i noticed how the box didn't have it, then it magically appeared on top in his hand. nice video. Thank you

Laurence Pylinski

Great video, I never would’ve thought to get a metric hammer and I’m sure the adjustable wrench is metric as well. I will need to incorporate those useful tools in my tool kit as well.🤣

Grampie's Workshop

How's she goiin'? Tool boxes are very important for a tractor. It doesn't mean your tractor is always braking down, it's more a sign you are prepared for the unexpected!!! A tool box was the first add-on I put on my tractor, but it's not as nice as these ones. Thanks for posting, I'm going to check into these!!!

Tommy Ordoyne

Martin, love the metric hammer. An Amazon link would be helpful. Lol. A little TP in a ziploc bag wouldn't be a bad idea either. Just in case. Thanks. Have a great day.

Bob Bennett

That's funny a metric hammer and a— metric adjustable wrench haha. The real question is where do you put your chains & ropes & gloves & toilet paper?

Dale Williamson

Great tips on what to carry on the tractor, thanks for sharing.

Bill on the Hill

Excellent ideas here… The " metric " hammer is a beauty for sure… The sealed toolbox looks much better than my plastic Sears toolbox screwed directly to the top of my RH fender on the JD.
When I finish my carry-all build at about 85% currently, I will comment about it on your Versatile Carry-All Build video, part 2… Hint: It is 5 ft. wide & mounted on the County line carry-all frame from TSC. ( Made by Tarter USA, Kentucky… )
