Are you going to do a Northern Tool Black Friday deal? I see their add is out.

Michael Daniels

Looking for the link to the Fire Pouches that you mentioned in the video. Thanks

Over the past 15ish years I’ve purchased 3 64 gun cannon safes on Black Friday from tractor supply for $599.
Sadly, those days are gone…. Additionally, in the last 2 years I’ve picked up 3- stack-on 18 gun cabinets from tractor supply with no keys, 2 for $100 and 1 for $80. And yes, get to know the manager, that’s how I got the gun cabinets so cheap. A simple call to stack-on with a copy of the receipt will get you sent a free lock to re-key it. Drill out old one, replace with new free one, and good as new!!! Now all my kids have their own gun cabinet in their closets, BB guns, pellet guns, bows and arrows, and what ever firearms are theirs. No ammunition is kept in any of their rooms and I have the keys to them all in my safes. Once they turn 18 they get the key, and they have been trained on everything in it.
Shine on brother!! Montana is amazing, ….during the summer!!!

Hey Bear are you from Colorado, or was that just on your computer when looking at safes? Noticed Lafayette Co.

Recently your using your real name instead of ToolBear. Any reason for this change?

In 2019 I bought the 24 gun version of that Winchester 26 gun safe (pictures look the same) for $455. It's nothing special but it fits my needs and fit my budget at the time. Maybe one day I'll outgrow it…the pockets in the door are nice for documents and small things I want to keep in the safe. They're not a main feature.

Things to look for in a safe are size (buy bigger than you think you need if you can) , metal thickness (thicker is generally harder to get into), and fire protection (the higher the temp and longer protection its rated for the better).
Ultimately, a good safe will keep kids and opportunists out, but a pro will get in if they want (which is why you don't put it in your living room and advertise it). Gun safe's best feature is keeping whatever is inside safe in a fire. Modern homes burn hot and long so keep that in mind when buying one.

I call bullshit on you powering a server in a safe. It would overheat and die in a very short period of time without air circulation.

Is it possible to put a safe in my garage.I’m concerned about moisture.I have a cover to hide it

pearl rival

I got the Canon $1,100 on is a good one for the price needs light in it. I like the $799 one better for room and save space. But I like the one I got had a lot of room for everything.

I do not like the exposed hinges on the Remington.

I can confim that there IS a small board with processor in the keypad itself, as well as one inside the cab. I've had to replace mine, mid range 16 stick Stackon. I hear Cannon aquired them.

I just bought a Ft Knox 64 gun safe out of an estate sale for $1200 including the safe movers to move it.

I used to know a guy that had a plaque on his living room wall of a skull and crossbones, wearing a green beret, with a caption that said, "Kill for Peace" He would put a gun safe in his living room.

At the bear's house, at least a thief wouldn't have to bring their own tools. And I hear he has lots of nice Diablo blades in case the first ones go dull.

A combo of surveillance equipment, apps for monitoring that, loud alarms, pro/PD monitoring, and neighbors who watch out for you, are a lot more important than the exact steel thickness, weight, or safe ratings. You've got to make quite a lot of noise to break into even an RSC (residential security container) rated that is bolted to floor and walls.

They all look pretty. Don’t be duped by the shiny paint, do 5 min of googling to get educated on what actually matters in safes. Steel thickness, hard plates for the lock, relockers, fire insulation, etc. More steel = better safe.

Great informative video content, as usual!
I’m looking for a small safe for one hand gun. I have 3 young curious granddaughters and even with rules & door locks I need to secure it.
And I want to be able to access my weapon quickly.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Liberty is my go-to.. They even offer an upgrade to do lifetime on the electronics..

On thefts. Friend had his stolen. The thieves neighbors reported them for trying to open it with a Chisel and Sledgehammer via the Top. Police recovered it for my friend. When God said Brain they thought He said Rain and only wanted a little.

Water proof safes? Well so far I have only found Stack-on to provide this. These safe are made by only a very few companies, most in China. Now why are these "safes" not water proof, well the big factor is the power out lets installed in them. Why do some have 2 feet of water "proof"? Well it's the power outlet, they are at the bottom of the back, and the water proof outlets are 2 feet higher, I have a field and stream safe and it is 2 feet higher. The only other factor is the door seal, how tight, and how well it seals. I have and older, 20yrs, Cannon that only holds powder and rounds due to you can get in it in less than 10 minutes, AND it has a LOT of slop in the door, if you can move the door in and out, even slightly, you can pry it. Also the locking door lugs is another failure point, those 1 1/2 diameter lugs are only a few inches long and are attached to a SMALL rod just in the door.
As Jeff says you need a well thought out plan. NEVER tell people what you have, and where it's at, this is the best defense against low life's!

If you follow the LockPickingLawyer, you would know that gun safes are really only there for looks and to "follow the law" in states that require firearms to be secured.
