The fingerprint reader on the back side is right way, everything else is an unnatural position for unlocking – twisting the hand and fingers.
We are waiting for the next generation of phones, which will again have a physical variant of unlocking on the back.
Wow, with all those milliseconds saved, one should have more time to do things such as go out more, get more sleep, spend more time with the family, etc
It's kind of fixed and a bit faster. There, I saved you watching an ad for curiosity stream.
what about pixel 6 'algorythm' update to make it not slow?
My Pixel 6 Pro unlocks with the fingerprint sensor in just above half a second to a second. Or about 600-1000ms. And, im also using a white stone glass screen protector.
my pixel 6 is almost instantaneous. seriously. I think people just don't know how to put it in. I guess I just have the touch for it
I have 6 and 6pro, they seem already fixed by Sep. 2022 update.
More OEMs need to use Qualcomm's latest fp as on the Vivo X80 Pro, insane fast and also HUGE
I wish they would just put the scanner on the back, it's the perfect place. And you can use the surface to scroll webpages and stuff
A quick yes or no would have been good. I feel I've just wasted 4 minutes of my life waiting for the answer. Anyway, it has face recognition now as well.
Only 2 minutes 39 is actual content
Your Pixel 6 might be defective, because mine's not that slow. Also, 1 1/50 of a second doesn't make much of a difference.
The footage you show of the Pixel 7 is the speed in which my Pixel 6 Pro unlocks.
I'm still not terribly impressed with the Pixel 7. Although I don't mind so much given the price.
These are ghost stories. They literally fixed the pixel 6 pro fingerprint scanner first update. I have owned one since day 1. A lot of these so called "stories" are from iPhone users that don't even own a pixel, and or an Android for that matter. Reddit is filled with them. Also Twitter. You will see a "sent from iPhone" posting Pixel issues.. 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼👻👻👻

My standard pixel 6, not pro is way quicker than either you've shown it seems.
I just cannot overcome the fact the battery is glued into these phones and they want you to purchase a new phone!
What are the best alternatives that have large battery that can be swapped on the fly by the user?
Personally besides the old color screen blackberry, the old Moto Razr was hard to beat! If they had a 4g Razr today about the same as the old one but water resistant, I would buy it!
Big DISLIKE for wasting 4:31 time for Just 1 sentence information! Just count how many times he said "Did Google fix it?"…
slow is not the only problem, you'r lucky if read your fingerprint.
I feel it SHOULD be measured against a physical button or phone back sensor. Those are extremely reliable and fast in comparison to nearly a second with the underneath screen sensors
901 milliseconds is almost a second!!! This looks slow compared to my mate 10 pro which unlocks instantly
People complain about the fingerprint sensor in the Pixel 6, but it's really not that slow.
Dude, literally 1/4th of your video is an ad. That's how you lose subscribers.
Fingerprint on Vivo X80 Pro uses Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max, this is only released 2022
Compare signal strength
It's not slow on the 6a
3:00 save you some time
Fingerprint ID is fast now but did Google resolve accuracy issues to prevent other people from being able to unlock the phone with their unregistered fingerprints AND why didn’t Google use full biometric Face ID for security and to prevent having to also use fingerprint to authorize purchases. Cosmetic Face ID, as Pixel’s Face ID version is referred to, in this day and age is less than Pixel owners deserve.
Is it broken if it works? One will always be slower than the other. My fingerprint reader on my 6pro works every time dang near. 99 percent with the tempered glass. I don't care about one being slightly faster. You are talking milliseconds.
Maybe it's not a hardware issue but more of the slow animation?
It's not that slow on my Pixel 6, I didn't measure it exactly but it's definitely under 1 second.
Your timestamps all say pixel 6 pro by the way
I wish phone makers would just put the scanner on the side of the phone. It's the perfect compromise.
Which phones have screen protectors? Are there any that will work with the Pixel 6?
Thanks Ryan! Good vid!
Pixel need to bring in more authorised repair center or partner with different company to provide service in some countries.
I still love the pixel 3xl's fingerprint reader that's on the back of the phone
