I find it so weird that we just assume that they’re tombs when there’s really no evidence of it. If you ever go there trying to imagine dragging a pharaohs body through those tiny tunnels and passageways would have been very disrespectful as well as unnecessarily difficult. Like trying to drag dead weight through air vents. Not to mention no bodies were ever found. It was likely something to do with the mysticism, as you referenced.

When Alexander conquered Egypt, as I pick up a theme in these comments, the pyramids were already older to him than the son of Philipp of Macedon is to us today

Valentino Zangobbo

Short answer: no

Joshua Taylor

Why censor classical art on your video. It’s 2022 not the Victorian era.

TheJoshuamcgowan

That album is going to be 🔥🔥🔥

When I read this title out loud my husband responded "The real question is, did they care?" and we were tickled by how close he was.

According to the ancient Egyptians, the Great Pyramid at Giza was constructed by Isis as a way to ressurect Osiris (whom they regarded as the first Pharaoh) and conceive a son, Horus, after Osiris was murdered by his brother Set. They place the reign of Osiris at a time period known as Zepteppi, or the first time, and regard this period as the beginning of civilization, agriculture, architecture etc and the beginning of the a new age that we also regard as the beginning of civilization as we know it. They do not regard the pyramids at Giza as funeral temples for Pharaohs, and there are no hieroglyphics in the Pyramids themselves. They are empty, cleanly built and are completely distinct from all other architecture dated to the 24th century BC or the reign of Khufu, which are characterized by less sophisticated architecture that is covered in hieroglyphs. It is clear the pyramids we're at least restored during this time, but that's about it. They truly are a mystery of the ancient world and there is much more that we do NOT know about them than is usually described, including in this video. Let's not jump to conclusions.

The "Yelp Review" is the funniest thing I have seen today! Thanks….. 😉

WTF is this feet BS? Thumbs down.

Why is the Sphinx on the thumbnail inaccurately represented to make the face less African/Black? I wish Europeans would stop falsifying history… The sphinx is still there so there is no need to draw an inaccurate de-Africanised image. Shame on you.

hemoglobbin

Just when I thought this might be informative the imperial units came and ruined it

I don't know about that Egypt Yelp review. If you want to see a REAL river, come to New Orleans. See the mighty Mississippi! Then visit the famous Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve for a nice long swim.

PRO TIP: Come alone, and leave your firearms at home! But you might get hungry while you're here, so bring several freshly killed animal carcasses.

P.S. The Lafitte bayou is the PERFECT place for children and the elderly to walk alone at night!

InnovativeAtavist

I honestly never thought to ask this question.
Very cool.

Quite remarkable! Just lie current "West", who claims it's lineage to Greece and Rome, is ignorant to the world around, so we're it's "ancestors".

Pyramids were not tombs

matthew mann

They probably made some equations and some pluses and minuses and multiplying and dividings and fractions yeah.

Con Ojos de Geólogo

good video

Sidney Gray

Did the Egyptians know how old the sphinx was?

Richard Bay

Tons of assumptions in this video.
“We know when the pyramids were built”. Do you? How?

Kelly Bolton

standard orthodox false information. waste of time.

Crazimir

It is not KNOWN when the pyramids were built – it is assumed that they were built during the 1st and 2nd kingdoms. It is not fact, it is assumption. An extremely unlikely assumption when one considers the amount of stonework that would require in a relatively short period.

Ugali Tamu

I was with you until you started the usual white racist nonsense of using european cartoon images to pretend that Kemet was a european country…..

Will Montrose

You said “they knew that the Pyramids were used as tombs for Pharaohs” but how many mummies have been found in the Great Pyramids, exactly?

HELDT

Archeology has moved so fast in the past 5 years that some of the details here are outdated, always a good watch though

Sir. Joshua Ra'Ne. Doebler

Did you know they say the Great Sphinx is about 10,000 years older than the Pyramid’s?

jimmy HVY

We still do not know how old they are , IMHO .

Jericho Thirteen

No one knows how old the pyramids are. You cant carbon date stone. Any dates are spurious AF.

halfdimeback

Still waiting for Numa to drop that album

SirBaconBoi

The Greeks NEVER said they were Tombs btw, that is false information! Everything else was pretty accurate— that Egypt was still considered an Enigma and an Anomaly, and the Greeks and Romans had no clue when they were made. (Maybe a select few knew if that knowledge was shared)

Wasa Bista

There is considerable controversy now about how old the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx really are. The official timeline says that all four pyramids were erected in less than 300 years — an impossibility. The Sphinx shows signs of weathering in torrential rain, in an area where such rains have not fallen for millennia. I suspect Herodotus' estimate will prove close to the mark.

hey random struggler. i won't pretend to know what you're going through, but all i'm gonna say is as my father in heaven blessed me, may he give you the peace to know that everything's gonna be alright.

Mark Arellano

LOL! 😄😆😅🤣😂🤣😂 The Yelp! Reviews alone earned this video a like!

Fun fact: In the Middle Ages, it was thought that the Pyramids of Giza were Pharoah's barns. If you examine the Mappa Mundi (c 1280AD) in Hereford Cathedral, you can clearly see large traditional-looking barns drawn in the map location for Egypt. It's as though the map drawers were told to draw large barns.
