Cadet Uniforms

Cal Maritime cadets have been gallant to wear a uniform for over 90 years. It is not constantly easy to follow the uniform standards but it is separate of what sets our graduates apart. Wearing a uniform is something that all Cal Maritime Alumni have in common. The uniform is a physical representation of the cadet ’ s commitment to each other. Wearing a consistent fosters a sense of belonging and equity .

Basic Uniform Regulations

  • Carabineers and Lanyards are not authorized for any Cadets.
  • Brown work boots are authorized for 1/C Seniors only.
  • Boiler Suits (Coveralls) may have one moral patch on each shoulder and a divisional patch on the left breast pocket.
  • Sunglasses are authorized while in uniform and must alight with the school color theme. Sunglasses will not be worn during formation and shall not be visible on the uniform (cover, pockets, ect.) when not on the eyes.
  • Grooming and Hair standards shall align with the current U.S. Navy Standards.
  • Using Headphones or earbuds of any kind is prohibited while outdoors and in uniform. In addition, playing music out loud while in uniform is also prohibited.
  • Watch Caps are authorized to be worn from November 1st to March 1st. They must be worn correctly on the head and must be the official black uniform watch cap.
  • Pins and Patches are not authorized on any Cal Maritime covers while in uniform.
  • Cadets may wear one bracelet and one watch while in uniform.
  • Knives are authorized in the back pocket.
  • Any color or style backpack is authorized. Backpacks shall not be worn durring formation or at mess deck.
  • Belts should be shined and clear of scuffs. All uniforms should have a straight gigline.

Uniform Descriptions and Requirements

The Khaki Uniform consists of campus issued Khaki short-sleeved shirts and trousers, your name tag, a khaki belt with a fall heave, campus issued black dress shoes or black work boots, a complain white gang neck singlet, black crew baseball swing socks, and a khaki jazz band cover or Cal Maritime testis cap. Ribbons are optional. All pieces of the Uniform should be clean and presentable .
The Salt and Pepper Uniform consists of a white combination cover, the white issued light sleeve preen shirt, bootleg issued dress trousers, black issued apparel shoes, a obviously whiten gang neck singlet, black socks, and a black belt with clamber belt heave. Ribbons are optional. A black dress annulus may be worn rather of black dress trousers. When wear, in stead of black crew cut socks and shined black attire shoes, black or nude stockings and black shoes with a heel no higher than two inches will be worn.

The Winter Dress Uniform consists of a blank combination cover, white hanker sleeve dress shirt, a black draw or link tab key, Dress Blues coating with proper rank on the sleeve or device pinned one inch from the sleeve centered on the epaulet, black dress trousers, a black belt with glow buckle, a white crewneck singlet and shined black trim shoes. Ribbons are optional. A black dress skirt may be worn alternatively of black dress trousers. When wear, in stead of black crew dilute socks and shined black dress shoes, black or nude stockings and black shoes with a list no higher than two inches will be worn .
The Coverall Uniform (Boiler Suit) consists of blue coveralls with sewed diagnose tape, issued work boots, and a white crew neck singlet, and a Cal Maritime ballcap. Coveralls are the only authoritative working consistent for lab for freshman. The “ solve blue ” uniform is only authorized for cadets who were issued the consistent. Overalls are no long authorized. Coveralls are authorized for cadets wear by cadets on the 0400-0800 and 1600-2000 watches at messdeck. Cadets returning from a watch or going to a lab are authorized to wear coveralls at formation. Coveralls shall be clean and adhere to consistent regulations.

The PT Uniform consists of the “ Blue Crew ” or grey “ keelhauler ” jersey, blue sky keelhauler shorts, and acrobatic shoes. The Tracksuit consists of a Cal Maritime shirt, Under Armor track suit jacket and trousers, and athletic shoes. Track suits are not authorized when attending classes. Tracksuits are authorized after 1630 at messdeck .
Spirit gear may be worn when authorized as the Uniform of the Day. Any outerwear wear with intent gear must align with Cal Maritime values. Closed toe shoes must be worn with intent gear. An example of spirit gear would be a Cal Maritime jacket from the bookshop, a keelhauler shirt, jeans, and sneakers .
All civilian clothe will be congressman of campus core values .
