As it happens, the Geissele High Speed Selector ( HSS ) wasn ’ t the alone cool raw Geissele Automatics AR-15 control component DefenseReview ( DR ) came across at SOFIC ( special Operations Forces Industry Conference ) 2017. We besides got to check out the nicely-designed Geissele Martime Bolt Catch/release “ paddle ” lever that makes for much more ergonomic ambidextrous weapons handling, specially under tension, when wearing gloves, when operating at night, or when operating the gun with wet hands. It ’ s a very nice little aftermarket upgrade for your tactical AR ( AR-15 ) carbine/SBR ( Short Barreled Rifle ) or M4/M4A1 Carbine, and it ’ s presently alone $ 29.00 MSRP. not bad, particularly when you consider that the Maritime Bolt Catch is made to MILSPEC degree from “ properly heat treated 8620 steel and manganese phosphate coated ” .The Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch is however one more case of why Defense Review likes Geissele Automatics products, as it ’ s the result of Mr. Geissele looking at everything on an AR/M4-platform weapon that can enhance the taw ’ sulfur experience and combat ( or rival ) effectiveness, right down to the little things on the gun–and then manufacturing a high-quality solution for it. Bill Geissele actually cares about his customers, particularly his active voice US military customers that are in harms way, and it shows.

The Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch is designed with the warfighter in take care and will work with any lower receiver designed to accept a mil-spec M16/M4 Carbine bolt catch. The increase surface sphere promotes rest of function when locking back the bolt or releasing the bolt after a cartridge holder switch. In addition, the carry controls add an increase functionality for left handed shooters who no long have to break their grip to manipulate the thunderbolt hitch. If the Maritime Bolt Catch is replacing an existing mil-spec bolt watch, please use care when disassembling the component from your lower recipient as you will need these parts to install the Maritime Bolt Catch .
compatibility with quarter AR-15 lower receivers is stranger. Please besides note that the elongated controls of the Geissele Maritime Bolt Catch will partially cover the pin hole for the hammer, a smaller punch may be required to push the hammer pivot out of the telephone receiver from the entrust side, and the hammer peg should only be installed from the right side of the telephone receiver. ”
