Don't know why camera reviews even bother with portrait mode. It's not required on smartphones as they are shallow dof anyway now.
No one uses portrait mode outside of reviewer land.
Also I'm guessing you have a blue jacket because in the selfie with backlight you say the pixel is struggling but the iPhone is saying that you have a blue jacket? Maybe it's blue but I would guess it's meant to be black like on the pixel photo.
For video, Pixel are horrid, but iPhones aren't much better. Samsung does the best video my a mile. Crapple coolaid is flowing strong for people who think iPhone video is good.

I'm starting to question myself what features I 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 or 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 rather than just assume the best camera based on the ᴏᴠᴇʀᴀʟʟ performance.
A good example is that I've started to take more portrait photography and this now exclusively kills my options on Pixel. Then I myself don't take tons of videos but however my spouse does. But she enjoys using my Samsung when it comes to seeing farther because she hates how much the iPhone restricts her on zooming (which is more important to her than myself).
I would love a simple explanation or chart of each pros and cons as you see them. It's funny how each camera has developed and each of us (including my sibling on Pixel) gravitates their loyalty to each brand based on certain looks and the main features they tend to use.
Please please please have a summary, because I think it would be great for the consumer!

Yeah, the iphone is better by a small margin, The social media integration also adds up. Is the price worth it? Probably not for most people
I've used Samsungs, iPhones, Pixels, Huaweis and it surprises me how tech reviewers fail to mention the zoom capability of the front cameras (both photo and video up to 4x) on the pixel phones. That gives it an edge over other phones, at least in terms of camera versatility. Granted it may not be the most useful feature in a front camera for most people but it is always better to have it than to not have it. And no other phone has it.

Its very simple guys. If you came here doing your homework between the 2, go buy the P7 its way way cheaper. Money isn't a thing? buy the IP14. The camera results isn't that far off between each other, unless you examining clouds

Lol, opens the review with massive excuse making for the giant purple flaring of the pixel night shots and then tells me that the text is sharper on the pixel at 10X when I’m looking at it on a 75” tv and the text is clearly sharper on the iPhone at 10X.
BTW, I’m not a pixel hater considering that I’ve just upgraded my Pixel 4 XL to a Pixel 7 Pro, but this is just unacceptable from a review standpoint.
