My thoughts on the Google Pixel 7 Pro vs. the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Google has really given up the idea of competing directly with the Samsung flagship and I think with good reason. What they do is provide value for their customers who like their extras…good performance, good cameras, all at a cheaper price. I think it’s a good strategy.

The S22 Ultra would be my choice but it's a lot closer than it has been in years previous…and that says something.
Not having the option to remove the at a glance widget or the Google search widget at the bottom is a flat no to stock Android from me in the first place. Other than that i prefer One UIs rich customisation.
All I care about is the camera, I’m a 64GB iPhone user so I plan on switching to a 128GB android and I’m never going back😂but I’m highly stuck because both are similar but different
I'm trying to upgrade from a $200 Motorola lol, but camera is ultra important to me, they're both same price right now on Google Fi's shop
in my country both are exactly 1k euro 🤔 not sure which one to get.
Thanks again for another great comparison man. I was on the fence but finally got myself a Google Pixel 7 Pro. However I will be returning it today. For a reason that I have not seen covered in many reviews. The screen is sort of raised up off the device. Giving a kind of tappy hollow feeling when using the phone. I cant stand it ha ha. Yes the phone is smooth and takes great photos. But it does feel a bit cheap in the hands. When I pick up my Note 10 Plus again 😀 after having the Pixel in my hands. It feels like a relief ha ha.. anyway probably ne being ultra picky but it is a factor!
I have both and it's tough to say which one is better, but like ppl are saying, it's what's important to you. I prefer the camera, display and hardware design on the 22, but I prefer the pure Android experience and OS features on the Pixel. Samsung has some good features too, tho. If I had to only have one, I would choose the Ultra.
Hahahahaha ….. Not biased much 😂🤣😅
I've got both , and imo the color looks better on the pixel , better battery life , better haptics , better speakers , smoother interface and clever software additions .
I have both and it is hard to choose between the two. Pixel has more natural colors. Samsung has more saturated colors taking pictures. I rather have natural. Samsung UI is better than Pixel UI. I don't like "stock android". Finger print is better on Samsung. Signal strength and connectivity is way more reliable and faster on Samsung. Charging speed is way better on Samsung. Pixel charging speed is a joke. Pixel voice recognition is the best. No phones can match it yet. It helps with voice typing and sending messages. Samsung feels snappier and more responsive. Pixel sometimes would not register my touch. Overall it is hard to choose which I want to use as a main phone. I will be missing something using one or the other.
This was a very hard choice but i ended up choosing the S22 Ultra and i love it so far with the 13 beta. Biggest reason i chose the 22 was because I like one UI 5 and i have a pixel 6a as my work phone so I basically have the Google experience when i really want it. At first i thought the S22 Ultra screen was decent but I didn't realize it wasn't on full resolution out of the box. Once i changed that the screen definitely blew my mind a bit. Very good display. Battery life is ok but i think the beta is having an effect on that as well as the full resolution screen mode.
Looks like a serious competitor especially given the price difference.
The pull-down settings menu of A13/Pixel is an abomination. Giant tiles with tiny icons taking up too much space with text that all looks the same at first glance, and then the text doesn't even fit on the tile so it has to be scroll animated making it difficult to read! WTF Google, icons were invented so you don't have to read text to interact with your device… So I've pulled out all the frequently used settings into widgets and shortcuts dropped on the home screen.
Every Samsung device I've had, was garbage.
Pixel 7 pro experience has been sensational. Loving it. Fingerprint sensor , face unblock , camera just keeps getting better.
I'd get the Pixel over the Samsung purely because of the call screen software.
Did the pixel still have the warming issues especially when using 4k? Also, how's the fingerprint accuracy?
two titans going head to head. im a pixel guy so im going to have to go with the pixel phones.
My Pixel 6a doesn't have the search bar! ….because I use Microsoft Launcher (and I have custom icons with no labels) that's one cool thing about any Android phone, launchers.
Everyone Losses to the samsung screens. It's not subjective Lol. I've noticed it myself in person, but they make screens for the other premium brands like iPhone tho so samsung always slightly better
I'm waiting for the S23 before I make my final decision. But just by you saying that you would go with the ultra over the Pixel. I'm leaning towards the Samsung.
I know that you have no skin in the game. So, if you recommend one phone over the other. I know it's because you truly believe it's the better device.
question i cant copy and paste pic from twitter just says save is this an android thing i came from ios so idk to well
Thanks for this awesome post. I would like to suggest you doing a phone review of smaller screen phones. I really enjoy your reviews, but not being a power user myself many of the specs of the flagship phones are more than I need. Some of the phones we have used and liked; Samsung Xcover 4, A10e, S10e. Looking forward to your suggestions
Are these really the best Androids in the US? How do they compare to Oneplus and Sony?
