Google Play Billing is required for all developers who charge for digital content in their app distributed by Google Play. New apps submitted to Google Play have until January 20, 2021 to comply. Existing apps have until September 30, 2021 to comply or can apply for an additional extension.
Joe Davis, Product Marketing Manager at Google Play Academy, explains this billing policy update.

Good morning guys
If my app is based on education and it involves providing video lectures to the users through my app as well as letting the users communicate with the teacher directly through some other media (maybe WhatsApp), should I use Google Play Billing? Or any other payment gateway?
How to fix it: Your app contains content that doesn't comply with the Payments policy.
Issue details
We found an issue in the following area(s):
In-app experience: Please see attached screenshot com.shariful.alicash-InAppExperience-372.png
Your app also contains content that doesn't comply with the Real-Money Gambling, Games and Contests policy.

You permit me to allow communicating with my users outside of my app! So generous of you, Thank you.
Ok so for apps like Uber. Google doesn’t take 30% at all? Is this the same for iOS

Pensei que tava vendo os vídeos do Primo Rico, que susto com essa intro! haha
Let's say my app is connected to a website, where user keeps his files, notes, etc and is able to purchase some membership services. Do I have to use Google Play's in-app billing service for these purchases if the website is not dependent on the app and can be accessed from a desktop browser?
All developers must unite to build a new alternative store for Google store and delete our application from the Google store .
Google deducts 30%, regardless of what we pay for cloud services, content purchases and time and the effort we make we lose a lot to build apps
😉
FIx your refund policy. We developers are suffering in your refund policy. My client purchased in app almost 1.5 months ago fo $80 dollar and they got a refund for it without my concern.
Just lower the abusive 30% cut to 15, even 20% and we will be happy. Google doesn't care about developers, with a disgusting API for billing, easier than ever to pirate apps.
So. How Google handles Donations? Donations are not a part of G-Billing and devs are not allowed to put donations links in the apps.
I own an Android app which is a conversion of the website. I use PayPal for subscriptions. The Membership platform I use for restricted content (aimed for subscribers) accepts PayPal and a few more methods. But not a Google Play Billing. I also sell the physical books within the app. So the user may choose to either to buy the book or to subscribe to read it online. I Hope that this way is acceptable for Google Play. I do not want Google Play Billing. All is set up and I do not want this new headache.
Hey I got a question. I just got a email saying I am involved in a class action lawsuit. But its not from Google itself. Would it be sent if it was related to my Google play. I am totally confused why and would appreciate all help possible. I called the number they provided for a lawyer and its a recording for a PC office ?
It's quite amusing that Google always say that you can distribute apps on any stores, but never give a channel to advertise alternative stores. EU should pay attention on this.
Why Google is going to go the way that Apple did?
So which top developers are going to leave Google Play?
Hopefully, the big publishers can smack Google around in the courts.
Because us little folk are tired of being stomped on.
Google hates indie developers.
Android Billing Library is garbage.
All the samples on Github are either missing, too complex or incomplete. Just look out how many bugs that been reported and not resolved.
Over engineered rubbish.
Will the policy be applicable to Loan apps also?
Google goes Apple. Shame…
Google is literally shooting themselves in the foot here. With the whole Epic v Apple situation going on here; this is only going to strengthen their case here.
Wait, Google's own apps are subject to the service fee? So Google gonna pay Google?
So glad my users have to pay Google 30% if they want to donate to me for keeping up the good work I put in my free apps.
I'm not even allowed to put in a PayPal url for users that do not want to give Google money.
I can't log into my gmail. What number can I call for help?
Nice try but No. ITs not good.
To nice Payment Policy
mmm. such an apple way…
What about countries where google pay is not supported?
