Throughout the summer Google has been working on a redesign of the NTP in Chrome. Also known as the New Tab Page (or the Start Surface page), this change has inserted a list of your current tabs right in the middle.

Some people are only seeing their latest opened tab there while others are noticing them being displayed in a scrollable row of square cards (similar to how they are displayed in the tabs list page).

This doesn’t seem to be happening to everyone, but if you are seeing it then you’re one of the lucky few who are part of Google’s A/B test program for the update.

Thankfully, we can change the way this New Tab Page looks and put it back to how it used to be by using the hidden Chrome Flags experimental features page.

Once changed, just relaunch the Chrome browser for Android and you should see things go back to how they were.

Hey man! Great video (as always)! But it seems I can't see the new layout (I'd like to explore it a bit). Any idea why? And if so, do you know how to fix it? 😕
