Best tactic, tell them its the doctor`s fault, trust me everyone believes its the doctor`s fault, they will go back screaming at the doctor and wont listen to anything
I am so glad I am BRITISH and, because of the National Health Service we see good health care as an absolute right for everyone, not a privilege available only to those who can afford it.
I had to take a leave of absence, ironically from medical school, because Aetna refused to cover a drug that I'd taken daily for years – despite appeals by my doctor, who was literally a professor of neurology at UT Southwestern. It's wildly unethical, and it should be illegal.
Literally, it's like they're pulling excuses from a hat! I got a letter from my insurance saying I was denied for my meds because I wasn't getting an FDA approved dose (I was). The next day, I got a letter saying it was denied because my doctor had failed to send the necessary paperwork. The day after that, a letter saying my claim was approved.
United Healthcare is denying me coverage of a biologic, a medication used to control autoimmune diseases that I need so that my spine doesn't curve into an S shape turning me into the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Fun!
Aetna decided that they weren't my primary and my secondary insurance stopped paying because aetna wasn't doing its part. A years worth of bills, bad credit, missing out on necessary medical treatments is still happening even though the two insurances hashed it out and supposedly fixed it. Aetna primary United secondary..not rocket science!
Actually had United deny a claim because their “cardiologist” said my overnight stay was medically unnecessary, even though I have a major heart condition that warranted the overnight observation after a outpatient procedure (gall bladder surgery). NEVER roll over and take it when United denies things. FIGHT THEM. You pay insurance for a reason. And it’s NOT so they can get fat an happy reinvesting your premiums in the stock market.
It's the same with all insurance companies…. no matter what they're "insuring"…. be it your health…. your home…. your car…. your business…. it doesn't matter! The entire industry is built on making promises, taking your money, and denying claims.

5/10- solid punchlines while roasting how powerless doctors and patients are at twisting insurance’s arm

I'm starting to think this is Jimothy's villain-to-hero story arc and that shit's about to go down at HQ🤣
How can I both like something and despite with every fiber of my being?
I am a nurse who worked at an insurance company x4 years. It is criminal. Absolutely criminal.
Some truth to that. Similar experience with my son.
