Did Nintendo give Mantine a HP buff? I feel like those random stat changes happen all the time
Off topic but I really hate when GF decides to split a pairing, yeah mantine is supposed to be the special version of skarmory, but let's give mantine a pre-evo and skarmory buffs
It's pronounced ManTYNE, not ManTEEN! Jesus Christ, how did you mess that up?!
Anyways, why does it sound like you're yelling constantly in this video when you aren't sounding exhausted?
17:29 Gosoliopod? That's not even close.
Finally you picked the best pokemon. Took too long.
Also do I see a shiny Mantine in the thumbnail?
Comment for algorithms text
I didn't realize that the item Metronome gets its power boost reset if the opponent uses a move like Protect. You learn something new every day.
It’s like Pokémon knew that Mantine was gonna be worse in USUM with all the new Pokémon that were gonna be getting Defog, so they tried to make up for it by giving it it’s own minigame
I like the use of the shiny model in the thumbnail tbh
Not the Emvee pronunciation
Finally did my favorite pokemon on my birthday! The goat?
My entire life, everyone in the anime and my circle of friends said “Man-Tine” but then suddenly overnight, the anime and other forms of media suddenly all say “Man-Teen.”
I’m still unsure how to feel.
Ay! Ay!
I remember pre dynamax ban, mantine was offensively amazing, especially since chancey wasnt in the game yet. It used gunk shot, ice beam, hydro pump, and hurricane. Hydro pump gave it rain, hurricane gave it speed boosts, and gunk shot gave it special attack boosts. And its natural bulk combined with dynamax meant it could even survive stray thunderbolts with ease.
Something also for the mantines that stick out in our heads Jasmines gym battle in stadium 2 had a Mantine on it that was such a counter to her steel types and (with the game cheating by picking moves after you did) it felt impossible
4:04 ah yes, my favorite water/ghost type golurk….. Oh wait that's jellicent
14:16 shiny model?
Always weird when the typing of a Pokemon doesn't exactly pair with its stat distribution, water/flying can be good from an offensive standpoint, but defensively… Poor Mantyke, at least it eventually overcame this and saw some time to shine in OU
Mantine is my favourite pokemon ever. I always have a soft spot for very simple designs 🙂
how good was the banner pokémon of your channel, Aegislash ACTUALLY?
Can’t wait until we get to Dudunsparce
what a cute guy! he's just a big manta with a fish buddy.
I remember that I used Mantyke a lot in Gen 8 little cup, in rain with swift swim those hydro pumps were no joke! Even the strongest Pokemon went down in one hit.
You're telling me Mantine was OU not once but twice?
Wait its manteeeeen? Not mantine?
I hope Mantine comes back in a SV DLC. My team has a Mantine-shaped hole just crying to be filled, in the same way my BD team wanted Hydreigon and my LA team wanted Ludicolo. These little teambuilding imperfections are why I'm still not a big fan of Dexit.
Why does he pronounce it like Man-TEEN 😭😭 it’s man-TINE like TIME but with an N instead of an M
It's been 5,000 years… finally we can once again find out how good something was actually! 🥲
I always find it odd when you don't mention when a pokemon gets stat buffs between generations. Gaining 20 base hp in gen 7 would've contributed greatly to the brief success it had, yet no mention of it.
Welp, I think that's the last gen 2 mon with a not absolutely terrible career the channel had left to cover. Well done derpy ray.
Never have I seen a Pokemon screwed so hard for so long just because Gamefreak refused to give it a move it should have gotten the generation the move was introduced.
Been enjoying the newer/other style of videos, but happy to see another in the classic on a classic mon
