I'm really glad you made this video, because I've had the following question since I first got into large format pistols. As a Washington resident, is it even technically possible for a SBR to exist under WA law? As you mentioned in the video, WA defines an SBR as being "made from a rife." I.e., if it wasn't a rifle to begin with, it can't be an SBR. You make a good point about how the new ATF rule applies the "intended to be fired from the shoulder" portion of the rifle definition under RCW 9.41.010. But the RCW also defines Pistols as "(26) "Pistol" means any firearm with a barrel less than 16 inches in length, or is designed to be held and fired by the use of a single hand." Ergo, is it reasonable to argue that my AR pistol with a brace has been and always will be a pistol under WA law?
TL;DR. WA law says ANY FIREARM with a barrel under 16" is a pistol. How does that affect the argument?
so there is really no choice in the matter, if i remove my 10" barrel and install a 16" barrel can i still keep and own my 10" barrel as a seperate "Oh Shit!" item? not installed, just keep in my safe.
Are AFGs (Angled Foregrips) still legal on AR pistols after the ATF change (assuming you are in the pistol configuration and not an SBR configuration (-i.e. removed brace)), and in regards to local WA gun laws that are up in legislation?

One part that concerns me that I haven't heard discussed much in the new ATF rule is the part about either putting a longer barrel on your AR pistol "or permanently remove and dispose of" the stabilizing brace. How do I permanently remove the brace? I know how to remove the brace but I don't know how to make that removal permanent. Do I weld something on to the pistol buffer tube to prevent any type of brace from going back on there? I don't know how to comply with permanently removing the brace. This is legalese-speak so I suspect all the little words matter.
Today is Feb 6th, 2023 and we r 37 days into the new year and so far in just Chicago aka Chiraq, 47 people have been shot & killed and 238 shot & wounded and NOT One politician has said a word. I (thankfully) bought a 16" upper about a year ago so I'll just convert my AR pistol to a rifle. I bought my pistol in WA so I fully expect to be on Page 1 of Sideshow Bob's "bad guy" list.
