More and more Google Pixel smartphones are receiving the Android 11 OTA update. As with most Android updates, there are always going to be a number of people who have a bad experience with it. Either due to OS changes, app bugs, etc.
Over the last month, I’ve noticed a lot of people within the /r/GooglePixel subreddit speaking about the lag in various apps no longer functioning like they used to. The most common complaint is the phone or application lagging and the stuttering of animations and transitions.
I’m seeing reports of this happening in all sorts of applications (and games too). But the most common seemed to be Gmail, Chrome, and Google Camera.
So in this video, I wanted to walk you through all of the ways you can try to fix this issue.
We start by clearing the application cache of the impacted app and then test to see if if it helped. If not, we go back in and clear both the cache as well as the storage data. When we go back into the app that next time, it should be as if the application had never been opened before.
I’m seeing these reports from all sorts of devices including the Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4a.
This process should work for troubleshooting issues for ANY application on Android 11.

Anyone really wanting help look up the magnet method. These problems where on pixel 2 and pixel 2xl and he isn't even using one of those.
Your not even on a pixel 2xl. That's the phone having the issues
sucks have to have a magnet on the camera when starting camera app or it won't work every time.
