How to Install Tractor Tire Chains

How to Install Tractor Tire Chains

Mike from Tire Chains R Us demonstrates how to install tractor snow chains. He explains how it is important to lay your tire chains out flat to check for any twists or damaged links. He then demonstrates the proper way to position the chain on the tire, before moving the vehicle forward, and fastening the tire chain hook and tire chain fastener.

Mike also offers valuable tips such as the correct positioning of the tire chains on the tire, utilizing a chain adjuster to get necessary tension, and when and how to check your chain fitment after you’ve begun to drive.

Thank you for your insight and time showing the correct method of installing tractor chains.

few things are a bigger pain the butt than installing tractor chains….

You put them on backwards lol

Zane Klein

Backwards and upside down. Hooks to the front.

Chains are too long for good fit.. what is very often a problem. Proper fit of chains does not require a tensioning strap as shown.

I run my tire chains tighter then that

Greg Meola

You put them on up side down. Your cross chain ends should have the hooks away from the tire. Not against. Oops.

If anyone with an LX-277 or similar models, do what this guy did in the video. My dad and I typically spend an hour trying to wrestle the chains on our tractor but we came across this video and managed to get them on in 5 minutes. Thanks!
