Looks like you're having a great time with that crimper! Can't wait to see what else you get into with it!

Todd Scholes

i have watched all your videos on buying a tractor but how do you know what and what to look for when buying one, i look at all brands but in my area the most common is john deer and Kubota but all i need is one for mowing lawns and snow removal and road maintence, that is what i am looking for but i still just dont know what to look for what i need and yes a cab would be nice but i can live without but i look in both areas, someday i would like to come and meet you and learn more in for a good opion on what to get for what i need

ralph jelomono

Thanks Tim. Really enjoyed this. I have many multiple types of equipment with hose sizes from 1/4" up to 1". It truly would cost a fortune to get set up. Fortunately the hyd shop is only 12 miles away and have great hrs of operation. But I like your set up and sure agree for some folks it would be worth the investment and open up opportunities for a side gig making hoses.

Tom OakTree

Hi Tim,
I really like your setup.
Definitely be very convenient when one fails in the middle of a project.
I'm wondering how a portable bandsaw with a 24 tooth blade would work for cutting the hose.
I'm sure it would be far quieter, as well as not making such a mess!

peanut Smith

To start off with you can use a hack saw to cut it with but you have to have money to start with

Sarah and Tim

Thank for the video, a neighbor bought a very similar crimping tool this NOV and two spools of hoses. He is allowing me use his crimping tool if I buy a package of fittings I need, to help him build stock in fittings

Eric Draper

Handy tool. Come harvest time if you're racing the weather that would be life saver if you blew a hose after hours.

Mark cole

I’d imagine if your business relies on hydraulic equipment and you have multiple hydraulic tools/machinery and your out in the sticks that hydraulic tool might be very handy! I would think you’d need to be a large farm and plow company type business to benefit!
In the last 5 years I’ve spent about $500 in hoses and fittings for my tractor and back hoe….would have been nice to make my own but how much would I really be saving? Not much at all.

Lochan Acres

That cat turned into a ghost jumping down at 09:3309:34 in the video. SPOOKY.
I could see where someone in a very rural area could provide this service and make enough to cover the cost.

photocontrol

Nice hydraulic hose crimping setup! A big investment for sure. Very handy if you have many pieces of equipment that you depend on at all hours with hydraulic systems, or a mobile heavy equipment repair business and make hoses on the job site.

Martin Rintala

Love the new gadget Tim. Need to start calling you Tim the tool man.

Dan Coffland

Hope you feel better soon

David

Our aircraft jacks are single stage jacks and when doing a weight and balance it has to go up and down a minimum of three time, in that case the pneumatic ability is golden. Love the video praying for a complete and quick recovery for you and Christie.👋🙏

William Fenner

I hope that you are feeling well soon. I like how you said how you do things.

XaViEr3520

I see Tim waking up at 1 am getting a call from his brother to make him a hose in the future 😅

XaViEr3520

The finance committee must have felt gracious this 2023!!! Congrats Tim!

Sam Engler

That was cool Tim. Hope you get your voice back and feel better.

My hoses wait till the weekend to bust so I bought a used weatherhead and haven't busted a hose since HA! You can send a pig or wad through your finished hose with compressed air to clean out all the trash…i use white lint free heavy duty paper towel pieces and keep blowing those through until they come out clean. ….. you'd be surprised how much junk is in a new hose. As far as cutting your hose, it's kinda important to have a clean square cut. Although my crimper is electric, I kinda like the idea of the manual one you have. I did sell a hose I made but like you said, i'll have to sell hundreds more to break even. The way I see it, it's a $3k hose insurance policy having a crimper. Great video Tim!

Daniel Clapp

Welcome back Tim. Hope you and Christy are on the mends. Take care and keep videos coming. Central Maine…

Jeffrey Currie

I’ve been waiting somewhat patiently. I knew something was amiss. Glad to see your fine-ish.

P B

Umm they sell hose crimpers a lot cheaper than $4,000. Some nice systems can be used with a porta power.

Marley Webb

Tim, great show however, I really would like to see the cat walk up close! Such a neat idea and those kitties seem so at home! Will you be putting up a video about the cat walk very soon? Looking forward to watching!

r l

interesting but very strange , in the UK that pipe would be £21 for 10ft and 3/8 hose and male fittings. free postage too

Peter Campbell

I have been ordering them for a while to get hoses. Being down for 3 days not a big deal.

Farm Boy

Your cats running and jumping in the background are stealing your thunder Tim!!! (Ha!Ha!) Back in the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's, I worked at Nuclear Power Plants, and we had Parker Hannifin hoses, fittings, crimping machine, and cut-off machine. Everything had an electric motor on it. It was a simple job. We made all sorts of hydraulic hoses, and high pressure water and steam hoses. Our equipment was mounted to a large Knaack box on wheels, so we could roll it to job sites if needed.

Randall Thomas

Locally in a 2500 population rural town, we have three places who will make custom hoses. So, I can’t see it making economical sense to me. That said, a freind of my younger brother, who he met through the Air National Guard, did all the hydraulics on their jets. The Guard, decided to get him a new hydraulics van complete with new crimpers, cutters, etc. Se he bought the old van through a GSA auction, and went into business in Las Vegas, making hydraulic repairs for contractors. He had a shop where he could rebuild cylinders, but his bread and butter was fixing heavy equipment. He has made a comfortable living for over thirty years now.

curt anderson

Hope you get to feeling better soon. Peace to all of us.

Definitely would be handy. I got just couple hoses for my log splitter last year. There expensive

Sean Signer

Get better Tim! Sav your breath.

James Berg

You sound like the Doyle monster I knew as a kid. Anyone who lost their voice sounded like you do. At times I can’t shake it either. Glad you are back and hope you continue to get better. On a different subject, do you or have done any spraying with big Johnny? I am walking the path to being able to do it. Not for crops. Weed suppression mostly

jonas magnusson

I pay 675 dollar for 1,25 meter a saturday in 2010?

rcguymike

Have you tried out the screw together type fittings? Seems like having a stock of those would be better for most people? Or are there other limitations that would prevent a wider use case?

Beau Shirley

I think the link is spelled wrong. I cannot get to it from iPhone.

jjsjeffjjsjeff

I think the chop saw is fine, but you may want a better blade on it. A bandsaw (like a portaband) might be a little quieter and cleaner. I found a site (Royal Brass) that mentioned wrapping the hose with 2" of electrical tape and marking the cut on that. The tape will keep the jacket in place while you cut.

The web URL in your description has "host" instead of "hose" in it.
