description
Maritime Memory is a boring pop song, in fitting with the atmosphere of the credits sequence in which it plays. The sung largely acts as a much slower and calmer remix of City of Color, with Callie and Marie singing the lapp tune, albeit with a different backing and slightly unlike lyrics. The main verses and chorus of City of Color remain largely the lapp, with the first verse, bridge and outro sampling Splattack! in its back. approximately halfway through the birdcall, it changes to a slow electric cover of the Calamari Inkantation with an older man rapping over it, and he continues as the Squid Sisters sing along with it. finally, the choir of City of Color returns, changing up a key before the birdcall ends. According to the booklet contained in Splatune, it was revealed that the song can alone be sung at the age of seventeen, the fragile period of time between a girlfriend and a woman. It besides revealed how the rap was performed by an old serviceman who stumbled into the commemorate session, saying “ though my clothes may be tattered, my heart is saturated and nothing escapes my razor-sharp gaze. ” The staff hurried him out but realised that they liked the addition to the sung and kept his share in .
Lyrics
The booklet included with Splatoon Live in Makuhari -Shiokalive- gives the official lyrics for Maritime Memory. The lyrics are nonsense ; the japanese hiragana merely gives the pronunciation.
