Behind Asia

Indonesia's blue economy is stunning, it is a key component of the nation's overall economy. With millions of lives being employed and billions of dollars being generated every year. But the environmental problems pose a threat to the ecosystem. Do you think we should keep pursuing this industry? Let us know down below!

as long as you know how abundant Indonesia's marine resources are, other countries like to steal fish in Indonesian territory such as Malaysia, China, Vietnam, they often steal fish in Indonesia,And sometimes they are not responsible for the damage to the sea they do!!

Hemm.. Iam Indonesian, my country would be stuck to be a developing country, Despite the growing economy, it is difficult to become a developed country while there is still corruptions, extremism, state rioting, practical politics. My country has many domestic problems.

Indonesia, historically was regional maritime power. Srivijay and Majapahit thalassocracy kingdom once ruled the region. But since the colonial era, we turned our back from the sea (Dutch monopoly trades and seafare) and forgot how great we were as a maritime country (Our navy motto "On the ocean we are Glorius", derived from Majapahit creeds). Even in these years of development and economic growth, we see the maritime sector is lagged behind (whilst larger ports are now being constructed, but still smaller even subsistent fisheries or worst theft and illegal destructive ocean exploitation). But as the growing concern on our planet sustainability, I hope that slowly we will realize how important it is to keep the ocean alive and build sustainable economic benerfit from it.
