This is a rant that u want this phone to be perfect an it's not at all it's a good phone but it's boring an it just works that's all I get out of iPhone
Same thing happened to the pixel 6 when it came out due to the megapixel change the minimum focus distance changes and for a time people were taking super blurry photos of food lol
You are not alone with this frustration!! I've noticed on my 13 pro max it occasionally fails to focus on objects regardless of distance, and i never really had this issue on my 11 pro max, i have to close the camera app and/or switch which camera lenses back and forth to get the camera to focus again, it drives me insane especially when i'm trying to capture something in the moment!

Still on the 13 Pro. I wasn't sure about the 48MP camera upgrade for the 14 Pro lineup due to the way it was explained. My logic just couldn't make sense of it. I've been hearing some complaints about the camera on the 14 Pro models. Hope the update coming up will fix the problem. Costs too much money to be having those issues with the camera.
This is a problem because it makes it hard to scan gift cards on certain apps like amazon which use the main lense and don't switch to macro
My iPhone 12 Pro Max has been super glitchy lately. I constantly have to reset my phone because of touch not registering on the screen, or the screen being completely unresponsive. I noticed yesterday while try to take photos that the camera is having issues focusing on all the cameras, not just the main one.
Thanks man for referring to this. I have also observed this thing while using the camera, but it was kind of hard for me to explain this to people with iPhones around me. So, I’ll just be sharing your video with them now so they understand the whole point and this change in the cameras.
This is EXTREMELY annoying. I’ve made a video about it too a few weeks ago because it has been bothering me since day one. I don’t get why they did that this year. Great video! 👏🏻
it’s been driving me crazy!! like in some apps they doesn’t support macro so i have to go back a bit to make the photo clear which is annoying😤
This is so irritating! Especially in 3rd party apps when you need to use the camera to scan things. It's hard to scan a bank card into an app or scan an ID for verification etc. I wish Apple would sort this!

I see what do you mean? Of course, I rarely use microcamera., so what are you just did right now , I went to settings and shut off micro , but other than that iPhone 14 Pro camera is good. I think I change from 12 to 14 Pro course I see the different.😅

Of course I noticed it too – the first time I was about to scan a QR code on my Macbook screen which was quite small but not too small that the camera couldn't focus – I mean my previous iPhone 11 Pro wouldn't have a problelm to focus and read the code correctly. On iPhone 14 Pro I couldn't do anything but to zoom the QR code and make it way bigger so the camera can read it properly. It is very annoying and I hate they changed it.

This issue is on every big sensor smartphone camera. The iPhone actually mitigates it the best
Agreed, every time I pull my camera, it cannot figure out which camera to use.. then a lot of blur when taking a quick snapshot.
I work for ATT, and have a lot of issues with Cx calling in about the no sim/sos. Although, everything else is flawless.
