What are the limiting parameters keeping you from actualizing your homesteading goals?

-Livestock feed and bedding costs

– inability to plant staple crops economically

– tractor sizable enough to operate equipment necessary to meet your needs.

* Don't you want to be Free from the constant purchasing requirments and attachment to the national and global market at large ?

*Why are you buying beans? Why are you buying hay? Why are you buying organic feeds at a markup ? Why are you buying straw ? Why are you buying rice ? Why are you buying corn? Why are you buying oats ? Why are you buying wheat ? Why?…when you could just buy an American Made piece of equipment that will fit your compact or even subcompact tractor… make a single investment on seed stock, then plant and grow your own year after year ? Let me present to you self sufficiency …

Let me present to you the Plotters Choice from Kasco MFG.

We build them , use them , and want you to see their broad use utility on your homestead . I am not a sales guy , i just believe in the unit and want the homesteading world to learn about them .

Keith Dixon

you are correct that they don't always work the way they are suppose to

The tactical qué precio tiene ese tractor?
Y que pistola tiene

Make sure you release the pressure on the hydraulic control by moving the control stick to all 4 points and the hoses will go on better and move the control after you shut down the tractor before you disconnect the hoses. You don't want hydraulic fluid spraying in your face.

Un-Named Trucker

Look at my weenus!!!! Look at it!!!

Ron Davis

Make sure you let the pressure off of the hydraulics.

Noticed your side arm. Is that to put a bullet through the engine block if the JD ever fails you?

Dave Stinson

Thanks for the helpful tips. Please tell me how much ur forks cost? I want a set

Skye Dahl

Super helpful Thank you very much!

Reason your bar in front is missing your hooks is because the little Bolt right below the spring that holds it up looks like it needs adjusted to let that spring pull it up a little further. They are just much you mentioned in the video are not for raising that bar. They are for extending that bar for leveling of the deck front the rear.
And then you could drop your leveling adjustments that you showed in the video back down to where the deck will run slightly forward and you won't have a problem with the rear snap snapping in. I had the same issue when mine was first delivered. And also for my back frame on the deck by the snaps was originally bent slightly inward causing it to bind. My John Deere dealer actually discovered that. In other words they was too tight. Now that it is set. I do not have to get off the tractor at all when connecting the deck except to lock in the wheels.

PTO lever? That looks like the three-point hitch lever. There is no PTO lever unless you're talking about switching from rear to mid-mount PTO on the left side under the seat.

balakrishna nangunoori

this type of tractor is available in india ? cost. ?

Donald Miller

Another possible way to hook up the mower. Try letting 1 lb. of air pressure out of each front tire . Or a reasonable amount to lower the tractor until the front hooks will engage.

Lou Lopez

Great video. It provides a simple, yet detailed, demonstration.

Jeff Cesta

Thank you. I'm a very new owner as well. I just took off the backhoe attachment off and would like to hook up my 3 pt hitch. Do you have a video on the 3 pt hitch installation?

Russ Trem

You r explaining well, good job, however – what the fuck is with the gun ???? R u afraid of smth, ?////

Bob Morgan

Boy tough guy with his side arm. This is why we need gun control for guys like this.

CarminoP

this helped a lot as a new user thanks! I think the problem you may be having with getting the deck back on is you need to let the mowing wheels down all the way first before disconnection … that should give you the inch you need to make up with the 2-by … does that make sense?

Mac Dawg

Oh hell Yeah.. you packing (Concealed Carry) Right on!

Howard Tillison

This was an awesome video, I just had my 1025R delivered to my driveway, and your demo told me exactly what I needed to know. I will still probably refer to the manual the first time I remove the loader or mower, but your video gave me the "gouge" so that I'm not starting from zero. I've operated a loader and backhoe before, but this is the first time I've owned a tractor. I flew helicopters in the Navy, and there is NO explanation like watching someone else do it to get you started on learning how to operate machinery.

deernutOO

Would really help if you would use the terminology of the various parts.. helps the newbie viewers as well as those who know what they are named.

Roger W

Great video on how to use this tractor.

Billy Toups

I am having trouble connecting the belly mower after removing it to change the blades. Is there a video anywhere that shows the proper assembly and placement of the mid-PTO drive shaft ? I believe that may be the cause of my problem.

Kristen Nygaard

We are considering purchasing this tractor for our little 5 acre farm. Once we get our lawn in we will have about a half acre to mow. My husband keeps a very meticulous lawn and will want even cutting. Would you say the belly mower attachment does a good job on lawn grass vs just pasture grass?

Matthew Pitre

I'm a follower and viewer of all of your videos – I'm the new owner of a 1025R – and I'm curious to know, what settings do you keep your mower on to cut your lawn? Please let me know. I tested it in my yard the other day, and it was an awful cut. It looked uneven on one the left side and often scalped the yard when I turned left. I will be taking it to the dealer tomorrow to have it checked, but I wanted your opinion still. Feel free to email me @ mjpitre@att.net and let me know your thoughts. -MJ

A very common newby mistake is forgetting to take it out of 4wd after you get done with it. That can cause some bad issues with the driveline. I have done it a time or two in yard and/or driveway. This isn't much an issue since grass and rock drive allow slippage, but I realize it within a few seconds and correct the problem. I only use 4wd as needed and then disconnect. The rear diff lock is also very handy as well. You should come to a complete stop before engaging this as well. I have a mf gc1710, but these "baby" tractor are handled pretty much in the same fashion. Check out videos by "Paul Short". He's a Canadian with a lot of expert advice if you ever have any questions. He has definately taught me a lot. Please check out my videos. Thanks.

Ron O

hello. where did you get the fork lift attachment from? Can you tell me what the part # is and how much did it cost. thanks.

CW

Agree with the other posts commending your video. My 1025R gets delivered tomorrow with belly mower, bucket and box blade. I feel much more confident after watching your video several times. Thanks for taking your time to record, edit and post. Much appreciated.

Good Video, thank you.. I have a 1023e with a 54" auto connect mower, and I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. and I am following all of the instruction as to taking it on and off, off seems to be ok, but the last 3 out of 4 times putting it back on, when the tractor starts going over the mower deck it twisted the mower to the side, and make it impossible to take on or off, creating a heck of a situation and dangerous, I have to get out my jacks out and raise the tractor to get the mower deck out from under it… it's very frustrating and I do not know what is wrong.. I have been taking it off in my garage I have a concrete floor and am wondering if it's to slick for this… I have also made sure before trying to put back on that all of the wheels are completely down and the mower deck is flat on the floor… I also make sure that i'm in 4wd low and I have it set on install and the drive position is set to the rear position and the rear latch is unhooked…. i do not want to tear up my equipment this way..

Phillip Saunders

Your JD quick attach setup is years ahead of my Kubota ……you may want to consider a tooth bar for the bucket and a suicide knob for the steering wheel. Northern tool has a really good PTO powered generator for power outage situations .

Gordon Hughes

I am planning on getting one of these soon, great video by the way, and I have noticed on different videos how sometimes the deck is lifted with the bucket control and yours is lifted by the rear lift…can you help me understand the differences and if I need to order mine with a certain type of lift?

Phillip Niebieski

my 1026r JD drive on deck wont align with the rear hooks to be locked on place. what adjustment do i nee to make?

shaftys gaming

great video I just one haven't taken the mower deck off yet the sales man showed how to do it but 4 hours later I forgot how to the quick connect is just great

Robert Sickinger

Outstanding video TH!!!…just purchased a 1025R and took delivery last Friday and found this video extremely helpful…thanks

Michael Gubesch

Great video on auto connect. Have you ever had the auto connect mower disconnect when the mower deck brushes the edge of the driveway or a tree?

Mr. Hemi

Please tell me how fast can you mow?

t cass

you did a great video. it helped me a lot getting the mower on and off the tractor. I've had mine now for about 3 years but i've always used my craftsman. its starting to not work well when it has a load so i decided to try the tractor. last year, on a whim, i thought i'd use the JD. couldn't get the mower on for the life of me. finally, after some choice words i got it on and working. taking it off, i snapped the spring holder/anchor on the brass colored arms, right next to the mower. i got it fixed and never put the mower back on. with my craftsman biting the bullet it was buy another or try the tractor again. i found your video and watched it as a refresher and things went on easy peezy. great instructions. this thing is a beast. went through some tall grass….i mean hay cutting time grass like a hot knife going through butter. thanks again

UPstater5.9

how's this tractor holding up for you? looking at getting one this summer

Owneroperator13

For the lift bar on the front of the mower that you put the wood under I found a way that you don't have to do that anymore. There is a adjustment screw under the spring tensioner on the bar. I had the same problem with mine until I found the adjustment screw

Venson Pawkett

need directions how to put my seat kit on my 1025 r tractor

Jeff Calvert

You have a weak spring on the front of the mower deck. It should hold the front attachment point up higher to engage. Great Video!!

Kurt Higginbotham

Awesome video, the John Deere Dealership actually told me to look for your video youtube, because you did an awesome job explaining how to disconnect the deck. Funny thing was, they couldn't do it while I was there. I came home, watched your video and did it with no problems!

Tractor Man

Thanke you fore da videio. ii wus gude.

What make are the pallet forks? What length forks?
