Killer home made Samsung TAB-E Offroad GPS Navigation

I acquired this Samsung Tablet free via a give away competition. I am an Apple user so I know exactly what I would use it for. Works perfectly.

hi, thanks for the informative video. Can i ask, being 2021, if you were now to go out and purchase a Android tab today, which model would you go for?

Are you downloading maps as a redundancy? Can you still use the GPS without the download maps! ie: real-time

Are you able to use the Samsung offline for GPS?? This is really the biggest thing that is keeping me from doing it. It would be extremely useful to be able to use GPS such as google maps without some kind of data plan. Anyone, thank you.

Most of the android tablets i've used lose GPS once they're outside of wifi range and can't work offline. How is this one different?

Use a ram mount to make sure your tablet doesnt bounce off the mount. They are top notch products.

6:39 For powering these devices, i find it better to buy a "Hard Wired" power supply.
Thy can come in any power output you need and more than one device can charge off them if you have chosen a large enough unit.
Hide the unit under the dash and just leave the MicroUSB fly lead at your mount.
This then keeps all standard factory 12v outlets free for other things

Thank you for making this video
For me a real shame you didn't show the OziExplore App install and Importing the Hema maps process.

So for an iPad setup you still prefer the Hema app?

Great setup

Hi JJ, Do you have to have mobile service for the Hema/Ozi apps to function as a map? I was hoping that since the maps are on the SD Card it could pull them from there. But I know in that past some apps have required signal to update. Cheers.

You've got the coolest toys! Love the setup you use and the wifi kit in the car is brilliant! Stay safe!
