Land Plane Wet Gravel with Small Tractor

We tried the 6 ft Land Plane on the TYM T25 tractor. I think it did ok, but the 6 ft land plane is a bit much for a 25hp tractor. The land plane weighs just over 600lbs.

We definately have had enough rain this week!(remember, im not but about 30 miles from ya!). Wet gravel dont spread too well. I have always hated having to spread rock when it came from Camden gravel. It was always really wet, so much you couldnt tailgate it at all. When i get ready to redo my driveway, im going to get mine brought in from Vulcan down in Savannah. They have the limestone rock that has what they call the purple passion streak…basically it's grey and burgandy colored gravel… looks awesom as a top layer of 56 over a good base. Probably get a couple loads of their gabion to put on the embankment too. I went and got a small load of the birdseye from up at jr hayes(just a few miles from our tym dealer!) Going to use it in the flowerbeds this spring. Btw, incase you didnt know, mr Jim passed away.

The T25 was impressive with that plane in the thick/wet stuff. Nice job.

I could hear my Uncle saying "What did you do to my driveway? Go to the shed and get the rake and get this fixed before Dinner!" He was a man of a few words, so when he would say something like that he was serious.

I have the rk25. Really like it for the size it is extremely capable. I had to modify the brake pedals because they were in the way for my size 12 boots. Going to get a topntilt on it and I think it will be just about perfect.

It's pouring here and the the whole southeast is probably gonna get more rain soon. Despite the conditions, I'd say you did a good job Tony! Thanks for sharing!

You can definitely tell the wet ground was making that more difficult.

Nice job.

THANKS TONY for posting this video. Now I definitely know not to do this in wet muddy conditions! 😎😜😇 Tim in northern TN

Hamiltonville Farm

Muddy mess!

Kenneth Lowe

Little tractor did ok but she was feeling it. If you have photocell safety on your gates you can put a piece of tape over it and the gates will stay open. 🇺🇸👍

The landplane seems to be easier to use than a box blade w scarifying teeth. I’d have a hard time justifying both due to cost.
I pull a 5’ box blade behind my L2501. Experience and luck produces a pretty good driveway w the 5’ box blade. I enjoy your videos. We are in SE Ga. 81, clear w no humidity today.

Bodhranarama

Once again T25 FTW! Thanks for posting folks.

Can I say a very happy Christmas and new year to you and your family yes I know it’s early but just wanted to say thank for your videos God Bless you all my friend Joe. I love your white truck it’s beautiful I love America trucks or CAR’S .

Kevin Raney

Not going to lie, I laughed a little bit when you drove out the gate and it started closing behind you… Looks like the gate was working on keeping the riffraff out.

Loren Meyer

Enjoyed watching! That land plane work great!

Don Moore

Another great video. Thanks for sharing. I always look forward to watching what you are going to do next.

Jim

Didn’t catch the brand gate opener, I have a mighty mule one, if you double click the button when the gate is almost open it say in the position. Liked that land plane I’m thinking that will be great on my 494

Stan Webb

Oh no you to Stan…Yes a mess!!!!! Do like the gate, 90 seconds for deliveries or long trailers etc. Do not forget to clean the Land Plane!!!!

Gary Messina

Tony you did alright planning mud

Everytime I watch you play with that t25 it makes me want one more. Awesome video you two keep it up

Stanley Conrad

I agree with your wife, a muddy mess! T25 performance was excellent. Today’s video reminded me of too many trips to the “field” in similar weather, ugh. I sure don’t miss those days. I wish you two (or three w Gizmo) some weather allowing you continued progress on your build out. Time and money, plus health!

Lawrence Pevitts

Will you be building a house on this property?

Nathan Rittenhouse

Is that a mulcher you just took off that tractor. And what hp is that tractor

Smokey

Never had any doubt the T25 could pull the land plane, especially if your tires are ballasted.

cush

Looks like that land plain did a really good job even with the smaller tractor. Stay dry and God bless. M.C.
