A lot of people are saying this but the gods thought is strange to me, with the new name of the gorosei (Saturn) coming out it tells me that they each represent a planet: mercury,Venus,mars,Jupiter, and Saturn are the gorosei and the earth is imu (they control the whole earth), then there is Poseidon (aka Neptune), Uranus, and pluton (the ancient weapons), I don’t think they are as powerful as gods but they control things like gods (and possibly used to control the ancient weapons) this means luffy (being the sun god who represents the freedom to spread joy) would hate the thought of controlling people, law could represent the moon because he is not necessarily good except when he teams up with luffy (like the moon reflecting the sun) Blackbeard represents the darkness that makes up the space in between (not the freedom to spread light and joy like luffy but the freedom to spread darkness and chaos), another part to this that I haven’t seen is how the admirals all have nature based powers, the earth is what all of these things occur on meaning imu controls them, and the shift from sengoku (who is based on Buddha a peaceful god) to Akainu (a dangerous element) shows that sengoku is no longer able to mediate between the gods and the people and imu now has direct control over the marines
