How about, along with the whiskey tasting, you did a cigar and pipe tobacco 'tasting' podcast?

Richelle West

The part about the life raft broke my heart. I can’t even imagine.

Digger420

I had to rewatch. I missed nearly all of the live stream lol Something about a time difference?🤔I love your streams, and I'll see ya on the next one Jeff😊

Books Chatter

Darn! Missed the live stream 🙂 (Hope you had a great day off, Jeff!)
This was very interesting. We had not heard of it.
Stuff like this always comes down to MAJOR human error. This really reminded me of Air France 447, where there was nothing wrong with the plane other than iced up pitot tubes giving incorrect readings. The pilots managed to crash that plane by taking exactly all of the wrong actions.

to date myself further – I used to run a telex back in my "girl friday" days for Uni money

Carenda Rudis

I watched this on Brick Immortor awhile ago…cool hearing your expertise added to it!

Paul Ferrell

Seems the it is more a personal failure on and off the Ranger more then the oil rig itself.

KayKay Weston

Have a vew geo friends who knew people on board. very tragic. so much happens behind the scenes in the mining world the public doesn't hear about.

Chat-Mort

My God, the part about the group trying to rescue the guys in the lifeboat was heart-wrenching. How utterly nightmarish.

Please don’t ever stop doing these streams. This is a fascinating subject, and your knowledge and enthusiasm makes it endlessly interesting to listen to.

Aikuris

Always love these deep dives, mate! Really blows the mind what can happen out on the water. This Ranger Danger truly was heartbreaking to learn about.

Why hasnt anyone built a ballast system consisting of 4 layers, the inner layer is the main tank the 2nd inner layer has sliding covers the 3rd layer has extreme suction creating essentially a massive vaccum to suck up water with a hardened 4th layer on the outside. Hopefully this technology has already been made and implemented if not. feel free to use this concept if anyone here is an engineer designing ballast tanks.

the Curse of the Unsinkable is it always sinks, the Lost Souls of the titanic hate that word and they will capsize your vessel if you call it unsinkable

Alan Tempest
