That river rescue, brought back some heart wrenching memories. I used to work next to a lifeguard office, during a river rescue training in Boise, Idaho, a nine-year lifeguard drowned. I remember thinking, how can he drown while surrounded by experienced river rescue lifeguards. Water is scary, I always have had the outmost respect towards it. RIP Michael.

These volunteers are truly some of the greatest men and women to ever exist. Reminds me of my rural local volunteer firefighters. Without them so much can be lost.
Alas, with the way the world is now, it's becoming increasingly difficult for many to want to remain as such. Too much red tape from bureaucrats who have no idea what they're doing.
