If a person get treatment in government hospital fully free of cost, then how could he apply for Pre-Post hospitalisation claim? Kindly guide me. Because the insurance company is denying for pre and post claim and asking to patient that without applying main claim there no pre and post hospitalisation claim will be approved.
On the other hand the patient had not spent a single rupee at the time of ongoing treatment.

How do insurance company decide that a disease is pre-existing if they do not conduct medical tests at the time of issuing insurance ? Every disease that is diagnosed is pre-existing.

Gurleen ji,

My mother has completed three years of health insurance (pre-existing disease time). She has been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis now and looking for a knee surgery. I have got an offer for policy port and the new insurer is okay with loading of disease details with minor extra premium (also increasing the coverage). I do not want any policy claim rejection later. Do you think I update the new insurer about the disease and port by paying extra premium with disease loading or stay with the existing insurer. Which will be a safer bet before I plan for her surgery? Thanks

These insurance companies are very mean. They will never add this or revise thier plans. For ex. There is a policy in star health with 1 year of waiting period but they never issue the policy if somebody apply this is how the insurance companies are looting money from hardworking peoples. Indian government should take strict action against this traitors of nation.
