Too often these days, millenials and Gen-z dismiss tradition as something naive and evil that needs to be destroyed for the good of society. It's good to know there are places and families in the world that appreciate the customs and social edicate that carried us this far.
This family scenario is just PERFECT!! I can't get over azami
For such an archaic family with certain level of responsibility to society, it is a must being able to be strict and fair. Azami here is incredibly hardened and knows the burden her family will be given in the future, so she has to make sure she can guide everyone, especially the next head to be capable and ready for this. Japan (and quite some Asian country) always put tradition in high regard and for some of the higher family, it is sacred.

I've been through this little "hell" only it was with my ex mother-in-law. In short, she was the kind of doting mother who was always flying above her son. She was extremely overprotective of him and when I arrived, in her head I was "stealing" her little baby. When I was dating her son, she gave me a lot of headaches, but now I'm glad I got rid of both of them.✌😗
I have seen videos about how In laws try to treat the wives like slaves. Hearing Akane say that Yuri is her slave just cause she married into the family, sends those kinds of vibes my way. But Azami protecting Yuri makes me happy.
I love how Akamatsu isn’t a cheating bastard in this one especially the fact he’s in most honored position in the family structure was great. It’s also great Azumi isn’t a villain but a tough but fair leader. Akane was usual brat but at least she learned her place after her mother finally stopped spoiling her. Yuri is the usual nervous girl at the start but once she started learning she’s determined and loyal and willing to learn which makes her perfect for this situation she just need to work on her fierceness but she will
Actually I would like to see one where Akamatsu and Yuri are couple but the man is fooling around with Akane and Yuzuriha and he got in a problem with Azami and his only hope is the declaration from one of them who discovered his cheating

I don't think I've ever seen one where Azami and Akamatsu were both good guys in the same story.
Typically, if one is good, the other is insane, or they're both bad nuts.
