New Android 12 Notification Shade Swipe Gesture

The notification shade on Android already has a number of gestures for it. For example, if you swipe down on the top of the screen with two fingers then it should automatically reveal and expand the Quick Settings panel (instead of just showing you the Notification Shade).

There’s even a common gesture with devices that use a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. Swiping down on that piece of hardware can, on some devices, also reveal the Notification Shade (as if you had swiped down from the top of the screen).

In Android 12, Google is adding another gesture for the Notification Shade but this one is for devices without one of those fingerprint scanners on the back (which is becoming less prevalent these days).

Now, swiping down on the navigation pill at the bottom of the screen will bring down the Notification Shade as well.
