Next Gen QD OLED is INSANE – Samsung S95C Displays

2023 is looking to be the year of the OLED as we’ve seen a massive increase in OLED displays available for PC Gamers and Movie enthusiasts, but there’s one display tech releasing this year that has me the most excited, and that’s Samsung’s second generation of QD-OLED panels.

Now you know me I’m what they call an OLED enthusiast because once you compare OLED to LCD you’ll quickly understand just how much of a garbage tier technology LCD is in fact I find it hard to believe we really had such a long LCD dark age coming off of CRT displays, which while they were larger, they were also better in many aspects vs the toilet paper we’ve been sold over the last 20 years.

So when I first got my hands on LGs WOLED displays I could never go back thinking I’d struck gold, but then something truly amazing happened, that’s right Samsung had been cooking up a new OLED technology called QD-OLED.

And fellas this was a giant upgrade over WOLED as not only could it get FAR brighter, but it also had better colors, but they didn’t stop there, oh no now in 2023 Samsung’s second generation QD-OLED panels which will debut in their S95C range of premium TVs and even possibly some monitors will once again raise the bar in terms of brightness by the use of their new blue phosphor technology.

Now worry not LG is also debuting much brighter displays this year with their new MLA panels, but not only do I believe they will still fall short slightly in brightness and in some cases framerate to Samsung, but their short sighted matte finish approach to the PC market has me far less uninterested in their 2023 displays as opposed to the beautiful glossy displays we can expect to see from Samsung this year.

Speaking of which, get ready, because according to the reports Samsung’s next gen QD-OLED displays will be at least around 20% brighter with a peak brightness being reported of around 2000 nits, and in terms of a full screen brightness you may see as high as 300 nits before calibration.

Now that’s bright, but even more exciting is I’ve heard rumors of new TV and monitor sizes coming in 2023 as well, so there is a possibility we could see a somewhat reasonably sized 4K 144Hz second gen panel as well as a 27” 1440p 240Hz and since it’s Samsung they will all be glossy, and to make things even better, Samsung has reportedly solved the weird issue they had with their finish on first gen products that caused the screen to light up and harm dark levels when lights were on.

What display technology are you most excited for?

mohamedahmed1023

I dont know anything about oled, besides (refresh rate and 4k) is there anything else I should be aware of? I keep seeing people talking about burn in. Anyone have any tips?

Well, i had a chance to compare modern qd lcd display with a lot of miniled zones to 2022 LG OLED i like qd-lcd better. Over 550 nits fullscreen, clear colors in both normal and hdr (2000 nits) modes because it doesn't have a white subpixel that washes out colors.
Maybe second or third gen of samsung qd-oled will be comparable but shortly after that oled crap will be murdered by microled displays…

Samsung might tick a glossy box, however their monitors are known have bunch of other, bigger issues.

Freelancer604

So are we getting any 40-43inch offerings?

Horseydestroyer

For everyone who still loves the matte monitors, I prefer my glossy 1080p laptop for videos over my 4k matte monitor

a104

That's a mistake

wish samsung supported Dolby Vision. Although my eyes cant see the difference id like to see it display dolby vision for name sake lol

0:23 LCD is garbage tier, except it has no burn-in, no image retention, longer lifespan because of inorganic material, and can be brighter because no risk of burn-in. I can keep static UI on my screen with no need for burn-in mitigation or pixel refreshing/cycling. Only microLED can give those benefits + OLED's benefits at the same time. So I'm hoping to see microLED monitors in this decade, considering Samsung is releasing 50 inch microLED TVs this year.

well said LCD is disgusting. and look at all these matte plebs like theyve never seen a side by side comparison of glossy and matte in person and they still choose that milk carton plastic layer lol

Lol this guy is hilarious

Matte finish with 16: 10 ratio is what we need.

Ahmad Qasem

Glossy still reflective in most condition and that why I like LG balanced coating.

beelzebob

why do I always feel like I need a shower after these reviews?

Kizzster

Still no 4K, 240hz, QD-OLED, 27-32 inches, 16:9 monitors = Fail.

Noah Larson

Release dates, I need them!!

Ryan
