Women are significantly underrepresented in hospital CEO positions, and this gender disparity has changed short over the past few decades. The purpose of this learn was to analyze the career trajectories of successful female healthcare executives to determine factors that generated inflections in their careers. Using qualitative inquiry methodology, we studied the career trajectories of 20 women who successfully ascended into a hospital CEO place. Our findings revealed 25 prosody points related to education and education, feel, career management, family, network, and mentorship and sponsorship. We found substantial differences in the career modulation points by functional background. Inflections were more pronounce early in the careers of women in healthcare management, while clinical and administrative support executives experienced more inflections former as they took on responsibilities outside of their professional roles. only two inflections were common among all the executives : completing a graduate degree and obtaining experience as a headman operating officeholder. More importantly, our findings show that organizational accompaniment factors are critical for the career progress of women. We conclude with recommendations for individuals in an campaign to enhance their career trajectories. We besides provide recommend activities for organizations to support the careers of women in healthcare leadership .

Biochar is seeing increase use as an amendment in agrarian soils but the significance of nanoscale interactions between this additive and engineer nanoparticles ( ENP ) remains unknown. Corn, lettuce, soy and zucchini were grown for 28 d in two different soils ( agricultural, residential ) amended with 0-2000 mg engineered nanoparticle ( ENP ) CeO 2 kilogram -1 and biochar ( 350 °C or 600 °C ) at application rates of 0-5 % ( w/w ). At harvest, plants were analyzed for biomass, Ce subject, chlorophyll and lipid peroxidation. biomass from the four species grown in residential land varied with species and biochar type. however, biomass in the agrarian dirty amended with biochar 600 °C was largely unaffected. Biochar co-exposure had minimal impingement on Ce collection, with reduce or increase Ce content occurring at the highest ( 5 % ) biochar level. Soil-specific and biochar-specific effects on Ce accretion were observed in the four species. For model, zucchini originate in agricultural dirt with 2000 milligram CeO 2 kilogram -1 and 350 °C biochar ( 0.5-5 % ) accumulated greater Ce than the control. however, for the 600 °C biochar, the inverse effect was apparent, with decrease Ce message as biochar increased. A chief part analysis showed that biochar type accounted for 56-99 % of the variance in chlorophyll and lipid peroxidation across the plants. SEM and μ-XRF showed Ce association with specific biochar and soil components, while μ-XANES analysis confirmed that after 28 vitamin d in dirty, the Ce remained largely as CeO 2. The current learn demonstrates that biochar deduction conditions importantly impact interactions with ENP, with subsequent effects on particle destiny and effects. titanium and its alloys have been used extensively for orthopedic and dental implants. Although these devices have achieved gamey rates of success, two major complications may be encountered : the lack of osseointegration and the biomaterial-related infection. consequently, cerium oxide ( CeO2 ) -doped titanium oxide ( TiO2 ) materials were coated on titanium by an atmospheric plasma spray ( APS ) proficiency. The phase structures, morphologies, and surface chemical states of the obtain coatings were characterized by roentgenogram diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy techniques. The in vitro antibacterial and cytocompatibility of the materials were studied with Staphylococcus aureus ( S. aureus, ATCC25923 ) and osteoblast harbinger cell pipeline MC3T3-E1. The results indicated that the addition of CeO2 shifts slenderly the diffraction peaks of TiO2 matrix to moo angles but does not change its rutile phase structure. In addition, the CeO2/TiO2 composite coatings possess dose-dependent corrosion resistance and antimicrobial properties. And doping of 10 wt. % CeO2 exhibits the highest natural process against S. aureus, improved corrosion resistance, and competitive cytocompatibility, which argues a promising option for balancing the osteogenetic and antibacterial properties of titanium implants .

Streams are likely receive compartments for engineered nanoparticles ( NP ). In flow, NP may remain dispersed or settle to the benthic compartment. Both scatter and settling NP can accumulate in benthic biofilms called periphyton that are all-important to stream ecosystems. Periphytic organisms excrete extracellular polymeric substances ( EPS ) that interact with any material reaching the biofilms. To understand the interaction of NP with periphyton it is consequently crucial to study the interaction of NP with EPS. We investigated the influence of EPS on the physicochemical properties of selected NP ( CeO2, Ag ) under controlled conditions at ph 6, 7.6, 8.6 and light or dark exposure. We extracted EPS from five different periphyton communities, characterized the extracts, and exposed CeO2 and carbonate-stabilized Ag NP ( 0.5 and 5 mg/L, both 25 new mexico elementary particle size ) and AgNO3 to EPS ( 10 mg/L ) over two weeks. We measured NP size distribution, supreme headquarters allied powers europe, primary particle size, surface plasmon rapport, and dissolution. All EPS extracts were composed of biopolymers, building blocks of humic substances, abject molecular weight ( Mr ) acids, and modest amphiphilic or neutral compounds in varying concentrations. CeO2 NP were stabilized by EPS freelancer of ph and light/dark while dissolution increased over clock time in the blue at ph 6. EPS induced a size increase in Ag NP in the light with decreasing ph and the formation of metallic Ag NP from AgNO3 at the lapp conditions via EPS-enhanced photoreduction. NP transformation and formation were slower in the educe with the lowest biopolymer and abject Mr acidic concentrations. Periphytic EPS in combination with naturally varying ph and light/dark conditions influence the properties of the Ag and CeO2 NP tested and therefore the exposure conditions within biofilms. Our results indicate that periphytic organisms may be exposed to a constantly changing assortment of engineered and naturally formed Ag NP and Ag+. PMID:25333364

The drive of this study is to figure out better metallic dopants for CeO2 for designing highly efficient non-volatile memory ( NVM ) devices. The award DFT work involves four different metals doped interstitially and substitutionally in CeO2 thin films. first base principle calculations involve electron concentration of states ( DOS ) and partial derivative concentration of states ( PDOS ), and isosurface bang densities are carried out within the plane-wave concentration functional theory using GGA and GGA + U approach by employing the Vienna ab initio pretense box VASP. Isosurface charge density plots confirmed that interstitial dope of Zr and Ti metals in truth assists in generating conduction filaments ( CFs ), while substitutional dope of these metals can not do so. Substitutional dope of W may contribute in generating CFs in CeO2 immediately, but its interstitial dope improves conduction of CeO2. however, Ni-dopant is capable of directly generating CFs both as substitutional and interstitial dopants in ceria. Such a capability of Ni appears acting as crown electrode in Ni/CeO2/Pt memory devices, but its RS behavior is not so dependable. On inserting Zr layer to make Ni/Zr : CeO2/Pt memory stacks, Ni does not contribute in RS characteristics, but Zr plays a full of life function in forming CFs by creating oxygen vacancies and forming ZrO2 interfacial layer. consequently, Zr-doped devices exhibit high-resistance ratio of 104 and estimable endurance as compared to undoped devices desirable for RRAM applications .

In any circulate calculation infrastructure, a job is normally prevent to run for an indefinite amount of time. This limitation is implemented using different technologies, the most coarse one being the CPU time restrict implemented by batch queues. It is therefore important to have a good estimate of how much CPU work a job will require : differently, it might be killed by the batch system, or by whatever system is controlling the jobs ’ execution. In many modern interwares, the jobs are actually executed by pilot jobs, that can use the whole available clock time in running multiple consecutive jobs. If at some point the available time in a pilot is besides brusque for the execution of any job, it should be released, while it could have been used efficiently by a shorter job. Within LHCbDIRAC, the LHCb extension of the DIRAC interware, we developed a simple way to amply exploit computing capabilities available to a navigate, even for resources with limited prison term capabilities, by adding elasticity to output MonteCarlo ( MC ) simulation jobs. With our approach, independently of the clock time available, LHCbDIRAC will always have the possibility to execute a MC subcontract, whose length will be adapted to the available sum of time : consequently the lapp occupation, running on different computing resources with different time limits, will produce different amounts of events. The decision on the number of events to be produced is made just in prison term at the start of the job, when the capabilities of the resource are known. In arrange to know how many events a MC job will be instructed to produce, LHCbDIRAC just requires three values : the CPU-work per consequence for that type of job, the baron of the machine it is running on, and the time left for the job before being killed. Knowing these values, we can estimate the number of events the job will be able to simulate with the available CPU time. This newspaper will demonstrate that, using this dim-witted but effective solution, LHCb manages to make a more effective function of

Job stress is powerfully affected by the content of the problem and the personality of a actor. This discipline was focused on determining the changes of the caper stress and job atonement levels over a biennial time interval, using the brief Job Stress Questionnaire ( BJSQ ). This self-administered questionnaire was distributed to the same 310 employees of a japanese industrial company in 2009 and 2011. Sixty-one employees were lost from 371 responders in 2009. Data of 16 items from 57 items graded on a four-point Likert-type scale to measure the job stressors, psycho-physical complaints and corroborate for workers, subcontract clog ( six items ), job control ( three items ), corroborate ( six items ) and job satisfaction score ( one detail ) were selected for the analysis. The age-adjusted partial derivative correlation coefficient coefficients for job overload, job command and support were 0.684 ( p < 0.001 ), 0.474 ( p < 0.001 ) and 0.612 ( p < 0.001 ), respectively. The harmony correlation coefficient ( and 95 % confidence interval indicated within parentheses ) for job overload, subcontract master and support were 0.681 ( 0.616-0.736 ), 0.473 ( 0.382-0.555 ), and 0.623 ( 0.549-0.687 ), respectively. There were no meaning differences in the beggarly score for job overload, job master or support, although meaning decline in the caper satisfaction level was apparent at the end of the biennial period ( p < 0.05 ). There was besides a significant decline in the speculate satisfaction in 2009 and in 2011 for subjects with keeping low problem strain. Cerium oxide ( CeO2-x ) film was deposited on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by reticular formation magnetron sputtering at room temperature. insubordinate switching characteristics of these ceria films have been improved by increasing oxygen contented during deposition process. endurance and statistical analyses indicate that the operate on constancy of CeO2-x-based memory is highly dependent on the oxygen subject. Results indicate that CeO2-x film-based RRAM devices exhibit optimum performance when fabricated at an argon/oxygen ratio of 6:24. An increase in the oxygen subject introduced during CeO2-x film deposition not only stabilizes the conventional bipolar RS but besides improves excellent switching uniformity such as large ON/OFF ratio ( 102 ), excellent switching device-to-device uniformity and estimable sweep endurance over 500 recur RS cycles. conduction in the low-resistance express ( LRS ) a well as in the low diagonal field region in the high-resistance state ( HRS ) is found to be Ohmic and thus supports the conductive filament ( CF ) theory. In the high electric potential region of HRS, outer space commit limited conduction ( SCLC ) and Schottky emission are found to be the dominant allele conduction mechanisms. A feasible filamentary RS mechanism based on the motion of oxygen ions/vacancies under the bias voltage has been discussed .

We report the beginning Kerr-lens mode-locked ( KLM ) bulk frequency comb in the 1-μm spectral regimen. The fundamental KLM Yb : CYA laser is pumped by a low-noise, high-bright 976-nm fiber laser and typically provides 250-mW output power and 57-fs pulse duration. only 58-mW output pulses were launched into a 1.3-m photonic crystal character ( PCF ) for one octave-spanning supercontinuum generation. Using a simplify collinear f-2f interferometer, the free-running carrier-envelope offset ( CEO ) frequency was measured to be 42-dB signal-to-noise ratio ratio ( SNR ) for a 100-kHz resolution and 9.6-kHz full width at half maximum ( FWHM ) under a 100-Hz resoluteness. A long-run CEO command at 23 MHz was ultimately realized by feeding the phase error signal to the pump power of the oscillator. The desegregate phase noise ( IPN ) of the lock CEO was measured to be 316 mrad with an integrate stove from 1 Hz to 10 MHz. The criterion diversion and Allan deviation for more than 4-hour read are 1.6 mHz and 5.6 × 10 ( -18 ) ( for 1-s gate time ), respectively. This is, to the best of our cognition, the best stability achieved among the 1-μm solid-state frequency combs .
