Dude now i don't have explain it to my wifey lol… But you know what samsung is just more or a quality phone and most reliable the first 3 years. Pixel phones just have issues right off the bat the first year and on and off after the year. And when you really need sometimes reliable 24/7. Samsung is still the King. But will see in 2025.
It's a great phone besides it being mostly Samsung. However, one thing Google needs to understand is that they are no longer the best camera phone. So they will need to innovate much more in the coming years.
Same for Apple. The west would really be up a creek without a paddle if they fell out with South East Asia/China

Call me crazy but I traded in my S22 Ultra after only a month of using it for the pixel 7 pro at launch and got $675 off. So I only paid $225 for the pixel 7 pro. The S22 Ultra's haptics and vibration motor is a step back from previous Samsung phones before it, I didn't use the S-pen as much as I thought I would want to and I really don't like the boxy/sharp corners of the S22/S23 Ultra as it's obviously a Galaxy Note. I find the pixel 7 pro the most comfortable big phone if that makes sense since its frame/corners are more rounded/curved. The camera bar also serves an ergonomic purpose because I can rest my index finger under it as a leverage point to use a large phone with one hand.

That’s really interesting. I knew Samsung made some of the parts for google but I had no idea to that extent! Samsung getting paid but you know they’re still hurting because now more than ever user data is valuable as well as subscription services and you just don’t get a cut of that through selling parts and I think that’s what google is really after and Samsung is hurting for it.
Seems to be the similar/same case with the 6 Pro also. It feels like I'm holding a modern "Google play edition" Galaxy phone.

The Samsung S series is Stull better than a Pixel phone
I got the Pixel 7 Pro for my wife from Verizon for a sweet deal of only $400.00 for the 512 gig version with trade in of our Moto Z3 but we got a dud and it was getting very hot. Verizon sent us another one and it was running sluggish and we returned it to Verizon. Ended up settling with a Motorola Edge Plus 2022. Maybe we were just unlucky but the Pixel 7 Pro wasn't that impressive. Beautiful build quality no doubt but buggy as heck. We gave it a chance but just weren't feeling it. Edge Plus 2022 is great and we got it new from Amazon for $499.00.

The vast majority of OEMs use Samsung or LG displays, plus the Tensor is effectively an Exynos … Plus Google has the HTC hardware engineers…the Pixel 6/7 are very HTCish looking devices
