In this video I am out in the field just north of Annawan Illinois. This farm is moldboard plowing a harvested corn field using their Versatile 936 tractor and Salford 7 bottom plow.

Love to see the older Versatile tractors. Plowing is something we dont see much of anymore. Glad to see Farmers still doing it.

Your channel is alright, but the "Veggie Boys" are tops!
Curious why the farmer was plowing the perpendicular direction of that field? Especially since at the end they have to drive the distance across to head the other way. Unless partial plowing of that field it seems like a less cost efficient way to farm. Still makes great content non the less.

Tail wheel usually runs in the furrow. Looks to be slightly dragging sideways, I wonder if it's still in transport mode.
versatile has always, in my laymans opinion, the best looking stuff. that red/yellow/black scheme just pops.

Thats nice black easy soil to turn over.
In my estimation, that tractor if properly well hung with weights,should be able to pull twice that number, (14) of bottoms in those conditions.

You are so right that you don't get to see this much any more. This also brings back some memories, one of the first things I got to do by myself on a tractor when I was a kid was do some plowing. Great video of that Versatile still doing the work !
Looks like the same black soil that we have here in Iowa. Pretty tough stuff. I still believe in turning the soil over.
This is and awesome video Mike don't get to see much molboard plowing anymore I think crops do better when turn the soil over but I know there will be people who will disagree with me and that's okay I just thank GOD for farmers and all the hard work they do day in and day out and the many hours they put in for feeding the world .thank you Mike for another great video and thank you farmers for feeding the world.
