the thing that upsets me about the iphone camera app is that the zoom and the mode selection is too close together! So that when I try to use the zoom, my HUGE sausage fingers keeps changing the camera mode! I wish that Apple WOULD move the mode selection to the top of the screen!

This was the kryptonite of the Face ID. The idea behind it being secure is great. Excellent biometric design. However, in order to keep it, Apple cannot use it with just one camera. It works in tandem with other features like LiDar. The pill design or notch might stay longer, until Apple is able to perfect the inside screen camera. Apple can release a ultrasonic finger print reader like other companies, but they have to pay for the license to use it on their product. Maybe 2025, Apple will come up with a way, a perfect way to revise FaceID using inside screen cameras.
