Hey Everyone! One correction I want to highlight as super important! As Classy Tech points out, the BT.2020 number is for gamut, not color volume, and unbeknownst to me, the gamut selector was on auto, so if I’d pushed it to 2020, I would have gotten a higher measurement. I’ll be sure to address all of that fully in a full review. Time was short on this visit! Otherwise, let me know what you think! Do you kike what I got out of my 1.5 hours with the TV, or should there be other focus objectives? I get a shot at another brand’s high-end OLED very soon!!! 😅

I would like to see info on how aggressive the backlight dimming is on things like a star field on the QN95C. I have an 85” Q900 series 8K, which frequently looks spectacular in most viewing. But watch something like “Gravity” and the stars become so faint in the film. Same with shows such as “For all Mankind” on Apple. pin-point white light against black is always lost on the set. So looking for a review of “Gravity” on the QN95C 😊

Hi there! Did Samsung tell anything about QMS support on these TVs?

Roland Rohde

I am looking forward to seeing the 2023 QD Oled compared to the 2023 QLed in 77".
The Game Mode is usually where the Qled fails because it has to turn off a lot of the local dimming to provide fast image response…so let's see how it goes this year.
I am currently on a 77" Oled from 2020 and while I am still happy with it, the colour saturation and the sometimes very obvious dimming in certain scenes, both in Movies and in Games is annoying.

ISAAC ASIRIFI

Are these the latest Samsung tv?

Justin

Sweet Brown😆

Ryan White

Hey Caleb, do you do calibrations for people?

Matt Atkinson

DOA without Dolby Vision, come on Samsung give up on this format war already!

Caterbusa

Samsung is playing with fire once again. They better hit that claimed 2000nits.

decidocisum

As usual… no Dolby Vision… no $$$ from me.

MetsuNoShin

May be a weird ask, but does anyone know if there's a list of 43" mini-led TVs available? They rarely seem to be labled as mini-led and it's been hard trying to browse options.

Allan Pape

Having had my fingers burned in the past, i now wait until the end of the year when all the issues are known
and which ones they fail to resolve, plus the street prices are more sensible.
Good luck to anyone brave enough to take an expensive risk.

Oshri Cohen

It's also been said that the new 77 qd oled has a false advertised 2000 nits and tested on 1390 nits only.

Sebastian Rojas

Wait for deals at the end of year 🙂 I can be patient and save money

Good stuff Caleb! Loving all that you said about the QLED line, I thought the QN90B was really great at launch so if Samsung gets things right this could be a big year for QLEDs. Also thought it was a bit of a head scratching move from Samsung having the QN95C drop the one connect but the S95C gains it, could cause a bit of confusion for consumers.

Btw some years I was a buy at launch kind of guy if I needed a TV but now that I review TVs and talk about them as my job well can’t say much changed there😂

I love the external one box – wish all manufacturers made one – provided they offered a variety of cable lengths. One thing you might want to discuss is YOUR personal experience for the distance from an 8K you notice that it is 8K on a 75" TV. Some people say 20" some will say 8' and some 12'. I'm guessing it is a perspective of the individuals for opinion on this but I'd like your experience. Perhaps even a group review on this topic with 2 similar TVs one being 8k and one being 4k.

He is such a beautiful day in the tvhood , a beautiful day in the tvhood, won’t you be a subscriber?????

Jacob Lahr

Samsung makes the best Tvs and smart phones. Perhaps sound bars too?

Phantomrooster

They haven’t mastered 4K why would you get an 8k the content isn’t even there

xybp942

Samsung electronics destroys their TVs with firmware updates

the only way to protect your TV against its manufacturer is to make it a dumb TV, disconnect it from the internet, and lose all streaming apps

absolutely stupid business practice to force broken updates on your customers

LeDooni

I‘m very worried about the 77“ S90C. They couldn‘t even manage to have proper QC on the 65“ S95B ending up with lots of bent panels, but now they‘re using the same chassis for the 77“? You might have to go to the S95C just to not get a bent panel out of the box if they didn‘t drastically improve their manufacturing and quality control…

SJB666

At 7:26 I was freakin' SOLD!

Jack HAMMER

77” OLED is going to be $6000 in Canada!!

Lloyd

Let's hope Samsungs shocking firmware history doesn't ruin the new QD OLED

Curtis B

Samsung TVs are interesting but there will never be a day that I pay top dollar for a set that does not support all the top image quality options, dolby vision specifically.

Lipin Ingole

I strongly believe that the smaller models will hit higher brightness numbers as in case of lg G3 due to energy consumption limitations.

FARMER OWGA

I prefer to wait a few months to see the bigger picture (A vs. B tests with recent updates installed).

Toddscamry 2018

Samsung never again burn me once never again got a very pricey QLED tv in 2019 didnt last three years pos

daiei27

From what I've gathered, performance in bright rooms and reduced risk of burn-in from static content are still good reasons to go with the QN95C.

There are others like me interested in this, right?

OLEDs look great, but it's tough to decide between technologies when most of the focus is on the one side these days.

Alfonso Ågren

To be honest about how bright a tv should be able to be…
I love movies. I do never watch a movie in a daylight or bright setting. The movie should be the centre of attention.
Brighter tv is for junk watching and cheap soap content. So those watching that are not concerned about things like color accuracy or dynamic range. They just mainly consume whatever content there is. Sadly.

So for me a tv can do less bright and better accuracy. I want to enjoy movies. Not get a migraine.

Cheers!

I've been eyeing up the Samsung TVs for a while now, I do have to say I dislike the home menu UI not because of the looks but because it seems to lag and not being hugely responsive etc, is the new 2023 TVs a significant improvement to this ?

austin penner

I was scrolling through my Google news feed when I saw your article for this video. And I remembered I had subscribed to you. so I chose to watch the video instead. I'm glad I did your video production is great. Cheers.

CelahiR

Im pretty hyped for qd-oled but i always wait for BF to see what TV is actually on the best sale 🙂

ALI ESSA

Did you learn about the second gen QD OLED panel in smaller cuts. Wondering if the monitors will come as quickly as the first gen.

Wirez

No blooming on the QN900C? Any brightness or dimming zones difference with the cheaper QN800C? Does the one connect box have 4 x hdmi 2.1 ports ? And are they 40 or 48Gbps?

Michael Jordan

Is the 4K QD-OLED better than the 8 Model?

savage 7ecneek

Whats the point of 2000 nits cause they don't have dolby vision……

Steven Tregaskis

Hmm I gotta say on FOMOS Vid that you gatecrashed…sorry guest appeared lolol, I wasn't that impressed with the S95C, didn't have that omg wow factor the S95B had last year. Great how it kept up with the Sony though in FMM. Thanks as always for the vid.

Zachary Freiesleben

I'll be playing the wait and see game. I currently have a 65" Samsung NU8000 that I'm perfectly happy with. If I do upgrade, it will be to a 77" or larger TV. Every time I've bought a new TV, I've gotten a bigger one and I don't want to break the streak!

My biggest concern is burn-in. I know manufacturers have taken steps to minimize it on the OLED and QD-OLED panels. I'm hearing impaired and use subtitles on just about everything I watch, live sports being the exception since the closed captioning is always 5 seconds behind. I'm afraid of spending big bucks on a OLED or QD-OLED and be stuck with a panel with burn-in because of the amount of time I use subtitles.

I think I'll wait and see what the prices are like this later this year or early next year. I could have gotten a 65" S95B for under $1300 or a 85" QN90B for under $1900 thanks to an employee discount program.

Dallas Felke

I've been noticing a lot lately that your editing team is going bananas with all these sudden and abrupt "punch-in" and "punch-out" zooming shots. It is very distracting and numerous. I think I counted 27 just in this video. There are so many that I can't even focus on what Caleb is saying because I'm just waiting for the epileptic 20% jump closer to his face. Please please dial it down so I don't have to quit watching his videos. Thanks for your time and attention

Chester

Manufacturers "never" bin their TV panels for reviewers.😉

Bruce

Even with the latest advancements, QD-OLED is still not bright enough. I bet that full screen sustained brightness is still sorely lacking…

Bruce

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood….

I Am Xavier

This man makes TV reviews interesting. Shoutout to Caleb and team (filmographer, editors, et. al)

kevin liu

No matter how good Samsung TVs are, they don't support Dolby Vision. I think it really is an issue. Do you guys agree?

Jorge Colucci

I really like your channel and your reviews but for some reason I feel that there is a lack when it comes to your audio there’s a delay on your videos

Marc Se7en

Picture looked STUNNING! Amazing colour, contrast, and black levels! ….. Viewed on my CHEAP Lenovo Tablet, with the brightness set to 10%, and the Blue Light Filter switched on! 👍🤣
