I hope they keep it in the A series so they continue being affordable. The A series is pretty dominant where I'm from so they best use Exynos to keep dem prices low 😂😂

YoutubeWatcher24/7

Well as a snapdragon and exynos user i have to admit that snap has just better battery efficiency

Steve

As a consumer from the UK where we’ve been subjected to Exynos trash as the only option, I’m so glad we finally get SnapDragon!

PRZYBYL

exynos is garbage for high end device, because samsung fabs is trash just switched from samsung to tsmc u can get 12% beter power draw and better clock, they designs it to power hungry, doesnt like mediatek they use arm design efficiently and still powerfull, + rdna gpu on it is not to fast enough, cool enough, efficient enough, they already strugling for long year, glad they chose SD or mediatek is way better choice

mrValdez

My A33 is alright.

Place of good mood

🤔

Samsung should make the exynos like the galaxy note 5 since it was available will all the U.S. carriers and the battery life of the note 5 was pretty good. Samsung could take there experience when they manufactured the 3070, 3080 and 3090 gpus and somehow implement it on there mobile devices. It would be interesting to play ray tracing games on android along with the 120 hz displays.

milan mangang

I bought exynos s10 back then since there was no snapdragon version in india n after using some time i swear i will never buy samsung n move to ios

Qualcomm dominance is just plain bad.

Aren't the Z fold phones using Snapdragon chips across all regions as well??

I think you're referring to the S and now defunct Note series only?

haro wilson

Qualcomm needs decent competitors

Ashin

They should try TSMC fabrication technology for there Exynos chips,
Then we can see what is capability of Exynos chip☺️

Schio Alves

We all know how it is when relying solely on Qualcomm goes bad thanks to the SD 810… when Samsung was the least affected thanks to Exynos

I don't know how I feel about this video at all. I personally have owned several Samsung devices over the years and the Exynos variant doesn't stack up to the SD one in terms of performance and battery life. I've had so many issues with it that I've had to ditch Samsung as they don't offer the SD variant here. So having them announce that all S23 devices will come with that. Does make me want to switch back.

seogab onotjah

better stick to qualcomm TBH

Exynos are rubbish. I used S10 plus I know how rubbish.

Tariq Mulla

Are you guys serious?

You guys make a video just because you want to make 1.

People been waiting for SD.

Belgium (yurope) : Ordered the gs23u feb 1, got it the next day, compared to my exynos s22u, itd night and day. I'm itching to throw the exynos s22u against a wall or out the window

ElitePortraits

I have a plan.

Mi wife has a Iphone7plus, almost dead

I got the s22plus with exynos when it came out

Im going to give her this phone

and Im going to enjoy s23ultra 😆

23 🐐
I'm a huge Michael Jordan fan. Yesterday was MJ Day (2-3-23). He's the GOAT. Not LeBron, Kobe, Steph, or KD. He's still higher than Tom Brady. Don't care about the Crying Jordan memes or if Brady has 7 rings. I bought NBA 2K23 because of that number and to do all the Jordan Challenges.

I'm getting S23 Ultra. For Kobe fans or Ken Griffey Jr. fans, wait for the S24 next year if #24 is your thing. But I'll always rock #23 before #24. That's synonymous to G.O.A.T thanks to Michael Jeffrey Jordan. LeBron wore #23 too but notice 2-3-23 became Michael Jordan Day. The number will be synonymous to Jordan forever.

Holy crap! I just realized the S23s will be released on Michael Jordan's birthday (Feb 17). He's turning 60. Dang, Samsung created their Michael Jordan of phones. Their GOAT. Notice anything affiliated with Jordan is the GOAT….

1984 NBA Draft Class
1992 Dream Team
1996 Chicago Bulls
NBA Street Vol. 2 (had 3 MJs)
NBA 2K11
Air Jordan 1, 3, 11
1998 NBA Finals (highest viewership)
The Last Dance (won an Emmy)
Crying Meme
All the ads MJ did.

Even 1996's Space Jam wasn't a flop and critically panned unlike LeBron's Space Jam. The number 23 is synonymous with excellence if Michael Jordan is wearing it. I can only think of the Michael Jordan when he went to Wizards or his cologne that flopped and that actually smells good!!

We won't get an iPhone 23 until 2031. Might as well get the S23 to match the year I got it. Jordan was born the Year of the Rabbit (1963) and this is the Year of the Rabbit. And rabbits are known for breeding but being lucky especially in business. I'd know. My mom was born in 1963 too and is very lucky with money. And MJ being a rabbit dealt with one in Space Jam (1996).

MJ23 IS THE GOAT FOREVER!

Since I'm under ACP, I need to go to AT&T because only Metro covers it if I want to stay under the T-Mobile umbrella. But I hear Metro can have your sim locked to your IMEI and I hate that.

That's why I will never buy another iPhone after the 13s thanks to this esim only nonsense here in the States because I can travel a lot, my native country is mostly prepaid, and I do change from different phones a lot. I carry 2 through 5 phones daily.

My guess is Samsung won't copy Apple with esim only until next year at earliest. This is why the S23 series intrigues me. I'm not dying to get any of them. It's another damn phone. A giant, boring slab one at that. The excitement getting a new "toy" wore off many years ago. Honeymoon phase. Love it. Get bored with it. Buy another. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

The main reason why the S23 Ultra is intriguing: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. From battery tests coming from the Red Magic 8 Pro, it seems Qualcomm might have their best chip since the 835/845 days. The 888 and 8 Gen 1 were very problematic.

You also need to understand SoCs won't always be efficient every year like it wasn't in 2015, 2021, and early-2022. Qualcomm doesn't always get it right every year once they speed things up. Who knows if Snap 8 Gen 3 sucks? It happens regardless if they use TSMC foundries.

The most efficient Snapdragon flagship SoCs I've seen were 800, 801, and 835. Snap 8+ Gen 1 and Gen 2 are returning to those years in 2013, 2014, and 2017.

Android will only get worse with 14 as Google will make it harder to sideload apps. S23U comes with 13 out of the box. Android 13 already made it impossible to downgrade to the previous firmware. Google is becoming more like Apple every day which isn't exactly a good thing. The openness of Android is starting to fade and becoming more restrictive like iOS.

S23 Ultra should still be the battery king for Samsung since I expect the Fold 5 and Flip 5 will come with smaller batteries like they did previous years. Fold 5 still has to power a bigger internal display and Flip 5 has close to the same screen size as the Ultras but Flip 4 only came with 3700 mAh and not 5000 that the S22U and S23U have.

So if you want the S-Pen slot (we still don't know if Fold 5 gets it), periscope lens, and the most efficient Samsung flagship, it's really the S23 Ultra. The S23+ might be more efficient but S23U just seems more premium and feature-packed.

Not many techtubers are mentioning this and instead are saying Samsung is offering terrible trade-in deals which is true. But a carrier like AT&T is offering $1000 bill credits if you trade-in any Samsung Galaxy S phone in any condition. It includes other brands like any old Pixel if you want $1000 off.

Yes, you're stuck with them for 3 years unless you do $6 Next Up every month to be eligible for a new phone after every 18 months. But you're getting $1000 off by trading in your broken Galaxy S3, Pixel 2, or whatever. Check the eligibility of old phones you can trade in on their site.

Let me do some calculations…

$300 S23 Ultra (I want 12 GB RAM)
$75 per month for 3 years

I'll get a $30 discount under ACP and $15 with autopay. My monthly bill should be around $35-$40 per month.

I'm really considering it. Yeah, it's a boring and heavy slab. I still think S21U looked the best from the back and prefer the rounder edges. But I'm sick and tired charging my Flip 3, Razr 5G, iPhone X, and Pixel 3 every single day. Only my SE 3 gives me good battery life and standby.

The Flip 5 will be great with a bigger cover display and the same custom Snap 8 Gen 2 but its size and form factor will always limit its battery capacity to less than 5000 mAh the S23U has.

From other battery tests, I think iPhone 14 Pro Max still beats S23 Ultra by a considerable margin while having a smaller battery nearly 700 mAh less. A16 is still the more efficient chip and iOS is more efficient than Android especially with RAM.

I'm very frugal how I use my phones. I'll probably turn off 120 Hz and 5G to extend it to 20+ hour SOT if I can get 13+ hours easily on my iPhone SE 3 from Wi-Fi browsing.

S23 Ultra is the one, folks. Don't bother with Pixel 7 Pro or 8 Pro. Samsung's Exynos chip is just not as efficient as TSMC Snapdragons. And less compatibility with emulators. Resale value on all Pixels is piss poor.

I wonder if my guy, Michael Fisher, will ever get bored with foldables and go back using a boring slab? I use both since purchasing a few used iPhones and it's really not difficult going back to a slab.

Every novelty wears off in tech. It's cool and fresh for a few years before boredom kicks in and it's no longer cool but common. But it's always great if the battery lasts very long regardless of form factor. That's practicality over fashion.

Kevin Van Neste

Still problems with my s22 exynos so fu*king pist 10 months later and 5g doesn't work and display problems battery …. so over samsung

To An

no exynos NO NO NO, don't even mention it again!

Drukpa

Because it sucks

eastbro

Samsung has been saying for years that they want to save money by making everything in-house and yet it seems they haven't improved the Exynos in the same time frame.

Uwwuuu

I hope Samsung will stick to this path, Samsung makes a ton of great product but obviously it's not their garbage chip.

tomtomworld

There will be no more Exynos. Google and Samsung are teaming up. They will no longer use standard ARM design. They will start modifying like apple. They close down the department for exynos.

Lukas

Why? Because it was crap!

Hitesh Raj

But isn’t that a good thing??

Duck

I still don't like how the base S20 has more ram than the base S23 and the same as the 23 Ultra and it had micro SD expandability! Having a Micro SD is great for extending the life of the soldered storage.

Ebubededraw

if you live in my region, you will understand how great this news is. though i will never buy a samsung again coz its a notorious brand. they just do bullshit and get away with it..

Terrible Times

I know people hated them but losing the Exynos series entirely is not good for the consumer. Qualcomm is a dogshit company and the closer we get to them monopolizing Android SoCs, the worse off we are. I hope Samsung continues to develop their chips in their midrange phones, and I hope they continue their collaboration with AMD. The S22 Exynos chips actually put up an impressive fight against the 8 Gen 1 after a few updates. Granted, the 8 Gen 1 is Qualcomm’s worst chip in some time, but it’s still the first time Samsung has been within striking distance of Qualcomm in many years.

Avaitor.

Samsung needs to learn what Mediatek uses like what their strategy like Apple do..

imran khan

I've never had an issue with exynos SOCs
Developers never optimised their games for the exynos, so it's not exynos fault

Rolins

I'm so convinced that if the Exynos 2200 had been engraved by TSMC, it would have been really, really good.

R K

It's not that bad tho, but yeah snapdragon version slightly better on performance and efficiency. But the exynos version has better features like Av1 and Ray Tracing support

The Square Design & Camera Position is so Classy!!! I Love Ultra Series!!! ✌🏻😃✌🏻

Joker 90

Stfu dont talk just use snapdragon

COSMIC AXIS 48

Who cares?

G K

It's a shame for Tensor users. If Exynos had paused earlier it would have meant that means Google could have gone to Qualcomm/TSMC instead which probably would have resulted in a better chipset.

G K

Aren't the chipset designs set by ARM? If so how can they get it so wrong from Qualcomm? Samsung should just go to TSMC for fabrication.

Mr P

Seems like a good move. In the UK we got the Exynos therefore I never got a Samsung

Abhi Abhiram

Maybe there is a chance to comeback with a powerful Exynos processor 🤔
