I'm seriously addicted to my S8 Ultra. I thought it was too big at first but i adjusted quickly. Really hated not having back lit keys on my tab s7+, so when sammy offered the ($350 ouch) keyboard free with my trade, i went for the ultra.
Samsung tab is absolutely awesome for content consumers as someone who owns almost every top ipad model since ipad 3. Even though samsung Tab cpu chip is massively inferior to the m1 and m2, without third-party app support, ipad are just an expensive brick. Manga and anime app, movie and TV show all in one app, emulator apps, games from ps1, ps2, Gameboy, 3ds, and other are vastly better than nowadays money grabbing mobile games. I made the switch to the samsung tab when Apple removed my 7th manga app, and the anxiety of if the next app will still be in app store the next day.
I find that Android apps aren’t as good as their iOS counterparts. So, an Android tablet is a no-go for me. I own the 11” M2 iPad Pro and am very happy with it. So, I won’t “forget the iPad Pro”, as suggested.
I use the Tab S8+ and absolutely love it. I tested both this and the iPad Pro 12.9 M2 and sent the iPad back. Despite being an iPhone user, I think the tablet experience is better with the Galaxy Tabs
Just bought one in the UK, the discounts were too hard to resist. £120 off RRP plus £150 off when trading in any old tablet. So I traded in my old Amazon tab that I bought for £120 in 2017. I think it cost me £379 after the discounts.
I have the S8+ w/5G through AT&T, I like the tablet and use it all the time. I love the DEX feature and the multi-function ability on the device. I own the S22 Ultra and haven't use it that much because I am always on my tablet.

For the S9 series, it would be great if they add some texture to the SPen button so I can feel around for it at night, and location technology so I can see if I left my Pen or Ear Buds at church again. I don't need better cameras, but I could use a docking station like Google and Amazon.

I so badly want this to be cellular. I wish they would make a stonger 8 in tablet but I could step up to 11 in if I had to. But the bigger tablets are just to big. Really wish they would add cellular to this model
I have ipad pro m1 11 inch and tab s7 plus , I pad passed it miles by performance but screen and media consumption hand down to the the tab s, still the main issue the app optimization for the android tablet

Totally agree, the S8 is great – to me anyways, I find it a massive step up from the Galaxy Tab A I had before and (admittedly ancient) iPad before that.
Got a real good price at Christmas with a trade in deal from the store (Currys) and a cash back from Samsung shaving a huge £366 off the £649 sticker price.
Awesome review I actually replaced my 11inch iPad Pro for the s8 ultra and wouldn’t look back. I love its versatility. Yes it’s larger but I don’t notice it at all when I throw it in my backpack or traveling with it and the keyboard cover case was free so I have no complaints. Sure apple has more apps when it comes to professionals but Samsung isn’t far off esp when the s9 series comes out with the snapdragon 8 gen2

I was about to buy the tab s8 due to its form factor but after seeing the claims and performance jump of 8Gen2, I will definitely wait for the Tab s9.
I'm happy with my s7+, but,, my laptop is just kaput and was thinking about getting a gamer more so laptop. But shoot I'd rather get the 8 and the keyboard attach(for the s7+ too?) I'm looking at the Ultra, and 14 inches is never a monstrosity, unless you're like 3 years old. I am full of gear and it's always good to step up your game to have more options. I have tablets, desktops, medical tablet PCs, Macs, Sun, SGI, and everything has a place, especially with open source..Most of us already know that most Mac gear is insanely underpowered for their insane prices.
I have the S8 Plus and the keyboard case with trackpad doesn’t have a lit keyboard. Big disappointment for me.
Love my gen 4 ipad Pro, would never switch to an android tablet when I'm using an iPhone.

I bought the S8 to replace the S5E, and I did not consider it an upgrade for the $283 after trade-in. The S5E screen is noticeably better due to the AMOLED's contrast and viewing angles. The pen was annoying to keep on the tablet, so I left it off. The S5e is 20% lighter and slightly more compact, with the same amount of pixels. I ended up returning the S8. I'd rather keep the S5e and not worry about carrying a new S8 that is a downgrade. Sure the S8 is more powerful, but that's better on a phone you keep on you, not a media consumption device. An S6 which also has an AMOLED would be more of an upgrade. I think once you have a favorite compact laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 5 14"), a tablet is just for media.
I have both S8 and S8 ultra. There's a noticeable difference between the two screens but it's not a deal breaker. I use the ultra mostly for media consumption and as a note taking device on my desk, and the S8 for handheld notes and on the go. Gave my ipad pro m1 to the kids. Samsung nailed it with these.
I got the S8+ for Christmas. I love this thing. I hadn't had a tablet in years and I'm impressed with how far they've come. The Dex mode is a nice touch cause now it essentially feels like a laptop replacement as well
