Samsung has packed so many features into OneUI for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets that it can be difficult to find all of the good ones. I wasn’t even aware of this feature until my girlfriend showed it to me on the new tablet she got to work on.
Instead of downloading a 3rd-party application to change the wallpapers on your Lock Screen, Samsung Galaxy devices have a Wallpaper Service built into the OS that offers this very feature. When enabled, it will display a different wallpaper for your lock screen each time you check the smartphone or tablet.
They even let you customize this a bit further by giving you a number of categories to choose from when setting Dynamic Lock Screen wallpapers.
We can find this feature by opening up the Settings application and then diving into the Lock Screen section.
There, you’ll find a feature labeled Wallpaper Services and this the component that handles this little feature.
There are a couple of wallpaper services built into One UI, but we’re going to focus on the Dynamic Lock Screen option right now.
After it has been selected, just tap the blue Apply button and then choose from the selection of categories offered by Samsung.
Now, each time you go to unlock your Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet, you’ll be greeted with a new image from one of these categories.
We can even go back to this page, tap the Gear icon next to the Dynamic Lock Screen wallpaper service, and change the categories that we have previously selected.
Samsung’s support page for this feature tells us they update these categories, also known as Image Packs, every two weeks with new wallpapers for you to enjoy on your Lock Screen.
This feature, paired with the Good Lock module I told you about last month, can give your Lock Screen a completely unique look.
